Goodman Heater Blower Not Coming ON

I turned on unit and thermostat does fine, but no heat is blowing out. I went to the furnance and found the red light is solid, no air coming out of pvc pipe and the orange flame burner turns on and off every now and then. Something is running and do not know if blower or not. Want to say it is NOT the blower as nothing is coming out of the vents. IS there something I can do here before calling a tech?

Try emptying the water reservoir and the drain pipe. Also remove the rubber pipe from gas blower to condensor and drain any water in their.
Leave the unit OFF for about 5 minutes nad then reconnect the rubber pipe and turn the unit ON.
Hopefully it should work.

The Ignitor on my furnace glows and fades. I do not hear anything blowing either as I watch the ignitor get bright orange..then fades.

Any answers? I tried to look here on this site but have not seen anywhere where there is a solution. I was going to replace the entire gas valve assembly because I am guessing the problem is with the coils sicne the ignitor fades away.

Help please?

I am experiencing similar issues..the blower you hear is the vent blower probably..mine does the vents the unburnt gas out of the vent pipe thru the roof. you should be able to run the fan manually from the thermostat to at least check and see of the blower works least it will let you know if the blower motor is ok..I have had to replace the control board once and I think it is the culprit again..mine is sooooo erratic.

Check capacitor, cheap replacement and easy to do, also spin blower wheel by hand to see if it moves freely. If so could be Cap. U can also try canding blower speeds to see if one of the speeds burnt out. Warranty??

Goodman A18-8 electronic furnance and AC troubleshooting.

Check the unit for a high temperature limit switch, usually a round bimetal disc or a square plate that
would insert into the unit. If the switch is bad, it opens up and the fan will run no matter what. Complete the circuit with jumper wire, if fan shuts off
replace switch

There may not be a call for heat being registered by the control board. Take the R and W terminals on the control board and put a jumper between the two. If the heater starts, you have either a broken thermostat wire or a bad thermostat or connection.

No heat after installing honeywell thermostat H8110U

hook up the blue wire in the furnace cabinet where the blower section and the other thermostat wires are connected to the furnace. the thermostat you have uses a common wire from the thermostat to the furnace and this needs to be hooked up in the furnace otherwise you will have the problem you are having.

Thermostat will not turn on AC unit or the fan in the unit. Heating-Co0ling Thermostat CHT 18-60 3aaT76A21A55 30 VAC 1.5 Amps Goodman Mfg. Corp.

Here is what I would try to see if the thermostat is bad. Take the facing off the thermostat. Once this is done you will see where the wiring is connected should be a red green yellow and white Turn off power to unit make a diagram as to where the wiring was connected red to r green to g and so on Remove these wires red green and yellow and twist them together Go to the power source and re energize the unit once this is done all components should come on if not the thermostat isn't your problem Red is your low voltage power supply (24 volts) Green is your fan motor in furnance, yellow is your outside cooling unit. 1 other thing you might check. In the furnance if the doors are not properly installed on the face of the furnance it may not allow the unit to come on. There is a safety switch on the furnance where the filter is that if the door is not put on properly the whole system loses power and will not work. Hope this helps. Good Luck

Limit Switch

It is rare that a limit switch goes bad. It is a safety control. If it is shutting off your furnace there is a problem that it is protecting you from.
If the limit switch is shutting the unit down your furnace is overheating. Check the filters. Check for any obstruction in the blower assembly. Check to see if you can raise the blower speed. Make sure all registers are open in the house. Your evaporator coil could be obstructed if you do not take good care of your filters.

Furnance will not come on

No Blink? no call for heat. Check thermostat. Jump out thermostat. Check the fuse in the cabinet as well as in the breaker box. Do you have an emergency switch that may have been turned off? Make sure the door interlock switch is closed and working.

My heater turns on the gas starts but then it shuts down

Try to locate the red and white wires either behind your thermostat or on the furnace itself. Jump them out and see if the furnace stays on. If you do it at the furnace you will need to hold the door switch down. If it runs fine, you have found your problem (the thermostat) if it goes out again, the furnace will display a number of blinks on the circuit board. Look on the reverse side of the furnace access door and there should be an Error Code chart to get you started figuring where to look next.
