Hi Could I please get some technical support

Hi Could I please get some technical support regarding a Toshiba split system airconditioning unit (indoor model number RAS-26NKHP-A2). I can turn the indoor unit on in about 5 minutes of the indoor running it starts flashing between the green and yellow lights on the inoor head unit and the compressor will not come on. I checked the interconnecting wiring between the indoor and outdoor units and it` s OK.
Thank you
Joe

I've worked on similar systems but not this exact one. On the ones I've handled, it has been diagnosed as a bad compressor. This is where I would start.

SOURCE: York Mini-Split Not Cooling? : (

This can only be a gas problem.
the split units goes on on and off if a shortage of gas is involved, the chances that you would here it wont be that big for the fans would make too much noise.
get a repair man for a re gas and all is well.

Good luck.

Red blinking and ac not working

If the power "flickers" and unit fails but will restart once the breaker is reset, this sounds absolutley normal. It is a safety device that keeps the unit from burning up things due to improper power being supplied. As long as resetting puts it back into service with no issues, don't worry about it.

Hi. I have a failed indoor controler on a hitachi ducted aircon. mod ras-5hz. inverter. can I replace it with other type. Unit 15 yrs old and parts not available. What is the control voltage between indoor...

Hi, the control voltage to both indoor and outdoor will always be 24 volts AC. If this is a heat-pump unit, the high voltage to the indoor and outdoor will be the same, 208/ 230/ 240/ 277. If it is a split unit with a gas fired unit, the outdoor will be 208 or higher and the indoor will be 120volts AC. I'm sorry, you have the inducer motor, so it is gas! My mistake. Yes, always the gas furnace will be 120 volts AC and the remote condenser will always be 208 and higher. As far as replacing the inducer motor with a different kind, it will have to be the same voltage, 120, and amps, R.P.M's, 60hz, and made to pressurize and be able to vent Hot gases also. It must fit and operate like the old one. They should make a replacement universal motor to fit? Check with some of the wholesale houses on this and they can locate a motor to fit. Keep me updated on this please Don.

Split unit, I get heat but no cold

I have run into this with the LG brand systems. try shutting power off to the outdoor unit to reset all units. If problem persists, it could have to do with a charge level of refrigerant (freon) or possibly a failed control board.
