Sounds like the door switch isn't being pushed in far enough by the door. You could possibly take it off and take it apart and bend the contacts to make it work sooner. Or get a new one.

The ice works off of a different solenoid than the water dispensor . So , I would suggest this action : At the bottom of the freezer door ( remove the kick plate ) , there will be a water line . Follow this line , about 6 " to a connector . Push in on the white ring and pull out the line , at the same time . Activate the water dispensor pad and see if water flows from the line under the refrig . If it does , then the line in the door is frozen . Either raise the freezer temp for several days , so the line in the door will thaw , or , I have heard using an air tank will blow the ice out of the line in the door . If no water comes from the line under the refrig , while activating the pad , then replace the water valve , behind the refrig , the piece the wall water line connects to on the refrig .

In door ice dispenser

Remove the top freezer door hinge cover , and disconnect the plug there . This will remove the power to the door . Inside the lower part of the dispensor cover , inside the dispensor area , between the grill and the actual dispensor bottom , use a small screwdriver in the crease , and push down and inward carefully , to release the 2 plastic clips , mounted on the bottom of the dispensor cover . 1 clip on each side at the bottom . Then lift the cover straight up ( not outward ) , to release the top plastic clips Then unplug the receptical to the dispensor cover . You should see 4 screws holding the dispensor caseing , which will need to be removed , for access to the controls .

Ice maker door stays open. How do I take off front panel to revel parts?

Remove the top freezer door hinge cover and disconnect the plug there . This removes power to the door only . Between the dispensor grate and the dispensor cover , inside at the bottom inside dispensor , insert a butter knife and push down and inward , to pop the bottom of dispensor cover outward , on each inner side . This will pop the 2 plastic clips on the cover off . Lift the cover , to pass the plastic retainer tabs . Disconnect the plug to the dispensor . There are 2 screws holding the white housing which has the switches mounted onto it . Remove these screws , and slide the housing foreward and lift . You should be able to see the complete flap door and the spring and pin , to decide what is causing the door to stay open . If you come back with the found problem , and the model number , I would be able to give you the part number(s) needed .

The ice door does not close so ice has formed inside the freezer, how do I get the fromt cover off to check the plunger to see if it is working to close the little door.

Remove the top freezer hinge cover and disconnect the plug there . This removes power to the door . Between the grill and the lower portion of the dispensor cover , at the inside bottom , use a butter knife and push down and inward , to force the lower portion of the cover out slightly . Do this on both sides , being careful due to plastic tabs can break , Once bottom is out , lift the dispensor cover upward to disenguage top plastic tabs . Unplug the cover from the plugin . Remove the 2 screws holding the dispensor housing and slide outward . This gives you access to the door flap , flap spring and pin . You will be able to see the problem .

Whirlpool Gold Model GD25SFXHS03 exterior ice lever not working

Your problem is probably a broken plastic switch bracket . Pt # 2180226 . To access , use a butter knife between the dispensor grill and the lower portion of the dispensor cover . FIRST , remove the cover on the top freezer hinge , and disconnect the plug there . This removes all power to the door . Insert the knife about 1 " from the side , and push down and inward , to push the plastic tab of the cover , outward . Do the same for the other side . Lift upward to slip the top tabs free of the mount . Disconnect the plug to the dispensor cover , and remove the cover . The white piece with the 2 switches , probably has a short plastic stub , broken off which holds the ice dispensor switch . Looks like maybe 4 small screws , hold the switch bracket on . Transfer the switches carefully ,because you are working with plastic . When reinstalling the dispensor cover , after attaching the receptical , slip the top portion of the cover in place , and pop the bottom to latch the lower clips .

Hotpoint fridge dispenser works on water but not ice

If the little green lites show up , you do not need a circuit board . If you get a hum or buzzing noise when pushing for CRUSHED ice , then the auger motor is frozen up . Remove the ice bin and use a hair dryer directly on the forks which turn the dispensor . The heat will transfer into the motor , defrosting the armature . Try closing the freezer door ocassionally and pushing the arm to test if forks turn .

Admiral side by side, the ice maker does not seem to making ice

Pull down slightly on the bottom bin lip , and pull the bin foreward . The bin has to lock in place , or it would slide foreward , each time the ice dispensor is used , causing the freezer door to be pushed open from the force .

Kenmore Elite Model: 106.5896.701 - Ice cube motor not turning

If you are describing the ice dispensor motor then you will find it under the ice bucket. If I remember correctly there will be 2 1/4 inch nut screws about the 3rd shelf on the freezer door. You will have to look up at them. The white mold that the bucket sits on. This is inside the freezer door. Those motors burn out frequently because ice will get jammed in ice bucket or bucket will freeze up due to flapper on dispensor isnt sealing correctly. Then we humans will continue to push to dispense and it wont move and burn up the windings. If you can work upside down you can fix this.
