Question about Kenmore 24 in. 16019 Built-in Dishwasher

It doesn't fill with water

Ok, last week the clean light sensor would flash constantly and the thing would not even start. We were given a code, a series of buttons to push on the front of the dishwasher to reset it, that worked great. But now the water isn't filling. When its turned on I can hear it starting and a few moments later there's maybe an inch of water in the bottom but it never gets more than that, and there is a lot of steam, so its definetly getting hot. I tried turning the breaker of and waiting to turn it back on but that didn't work either. Any other suggestions?

Was getting a "IE" error during the wash cycle and the machine would shut off. Replaced both inlet valves and now I am getting a "FE" error as the machine is constantly filling with water.

Hello. I need the make/model number to help you accurately. If you have a Samsung washing machine, the IE error code pertains to a defective water level sensor. The "pressure switch" tells the computer how much water is in the tub at any given moment. It will have a tube (plastic or rubber) connecting it to the bottom of the tub. As water collects in the bottom of the tub, air is pushed into this tube and against the sensor. The sensor can fail in 2 directions. Your washer will not fill with water at all because it thinks there is already water in the tub(the tube is clogged)--or disastrously, keep filling until it overflows and floods your house because it constantly thinks there is not enough water. This can happen when the hose is loose on the sensor, a pinhole has developed in the hose and proper pressure won't build up which will give the sensor inaccurate information, or the sensor is just defective.
The FE error code refers to a "frequency error"--something is wrong with the incoming AC power supply--If this is an LG machine, then the error code is the pressure switch again--Sorry for the ambiguity but different makes have different meanings for the error codes--anytime an overfill condition exists, I first suspect the pressure switch, then I check the wiring harness connections, lastly, I suspect the main control board. I hope this helps you!

Keurig Mini Plus constantly overflowing

It's possible that it needs a cleaning... there may be a residue in the lines somewhere or a buildup... look in your manual to see how often they recommended cleaning it... it's also possible that the pump may be going if it is an older model... I would start with cleaning it according to your manual's instructions and then go from there. As a last resort, maybe you could contact the manufacturer if a cleaning doesn't help.

I have a paloma tankless water heater, ptg-42pvn. It was flashing, C4, 13 and now it only flashes -0, 13 and will not even turn on. Tried to reset it by unplugging it and it only flashes -0, 13 even...

Multiple error codes can mean different things, including bad PC board.
C2 13 might be the oxygen sensor. -0 and no operation indicates bad board, but other things might be notched into same problem like loose connections.
Error codes are starting point for troubleshooting.

The cleaning button keeps flashing after cleaning. I have cleaned this with water & vinegar several times, but can only make one or two pots of coffee before the cleaning button begins to flash again....

We have this problem as well. We simply clean it as directed once or twice with the vinegar and water mix and then unplug for an hour. This resets our machine for several weeks. Based on the number of comments I've seen on this issue, it seems that the "off" sensor doesn't work.

Emerson IM90 Portale Ice Maker

My friend bought this item last week at Target for the $99 sale price. The reviews were all horrible about the red light (add water) indicator going on after the first or several first ice cube runs and never going out. About 40 out of 60 reviewers had this problem. We experienced it right after the first run when the ice cube full light went on. We emptied it and the add water red light was on. I looked all over the web for a solution and only found one that suggested tilting the unit backwards for 45 degrees and that would magically reset the light. It did not after several angles, light taps and basic shaking. Since there was no alternative and everyone who returned it also got the exact same problem with the new replaced model - we decided to open it up and investigate.
The electronics diagram is on the back of the machine and tell you where the water indicator is. We took it out (an inch long black tube along the water pump and backflow valve) and dried it completely. The cycle still had the red light. We submerged it completely in water and the red light still went on saying that the unit needs water. We determined that this is the bad part and the water indicator is faulty. We cut it out and joined the two wires. IT ALL WORKS NOW FLAWLESSLY. You only have to shut the unit off when you leave since it will ocntinue to run if out of water. If you're looking for a quick mechanical fix and have a unit that works when you need it and you are around - this isthe fix.
