Dell HQRP 19.5V charger not charging, idle

I bought an HQRP Dell replacment charger for my Dell Inspiron 1525 and when I plugged it in to my computer where it worked for about a day then it refused to charge. It's currently at 94% charge and it has been that way for a day now. It says the battery is idle, which means the battery is obviously not doing it's job. No matter what power setting I set it to, it refuses to charge, staying at 94%, never getting higher, never getting lower. I would like to know how to get it charging again.

Tom
i have inspiron 1525 as well ... if the computer wont boot up, then the mainboard may have experienced a power surge of excess current. did you have t-storm or power out while your computer was plugged in with Ac adapter ?

if not , to answer your question, the capacitors you inquire about are so small, it would require special solder machine to replace these CAPACITORs, as they are very tiny in size and require absolute temperature (heat) from solder gun to pally appropriate solder to replace the capacitor(s).

i think your mainboard is gone.

if i can be of further assistance, please let me know-- i can help

I have a dell inspiron 1525 the battery light was blinking orange and wouldnt come on so listening to an expert i bought a new battery when you first plug it in should the light still be orange??

Hi. Blinking orange light on battery indicator means it's charging. To make sure, point your mouse to the battery icon on the Taskbar located on the lower right-hand corner of your screen...near the system time and speaker icons. It should say plugged in, charging. If you see "plugged in, not charging, then you need to call Dell Phone Support for additional help.

Dell 1525 won't run on ac but will on generic battery

Dell systems will not charge the battery without a Dell Branded AC adapter connected to the system (The BIOS looks for the adapter ID and disables the battery charger if not ID'd)
It appears, that since the system will not power on with either AC adapter, that there is a problem with the power connection of the system. You can replace the power board

if that fails to resolve next is the motherboard

Hey i had my dell inspiron 1525 for quite a while and now the charger stopped working for some reason. i need help

The charging circuit requires an ac adapter with an intact sensing pin in the center of the Adapter barrel plug that connects to the computer. If the pin is bent or broken, the charger is disabled.
If possible, try a known good adapter from another D or E Series Dell Portable. If a KG adapter charges the battery, replace the adapter. If it makes no difference, then replace the motherboard

If possible could you check output voltage of the charger with a multimeter? If you can get output voltage, then might be something wrong with laptop battery charging circuit. Contact Laptop Repairing Engineer.

Dell inspiron 1525 won't charge

The battery has most likely been "Over charged". Most rechargeable batteries can only be charged around 500-1000 times depending on the brand of your computer. I would recommend buying a new one.
