I never got a disc with my laptop when i brought it and i need to reboot it i was led to believe there was a way without the disc, like a built in way to do it but i have no idea, please help.

During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS you can load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults ,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart also click start all programs accessories scroll to system tools from there you should see a system restore click next a sytem date should open up select the date you want to restore your computer to or if you want a full factory restore Turn Off the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10 key,ie: Alt+F10, it will open the recovery console ,select full factory restore and follow on screen instruction. (Note:this will erase all datas on the computer)

Hope this helps you

Boot up to slow

Hi ladurisjames...

Your computer sounds like it is loaded with "junk"
Lets start by doing a disc cleaning, then a defrag of the hard drive, and then get rid of unwanted pictures, programs, etc.that you never use anymore from your computer.
Last resort will be a System Restore.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------1...Disc cleaning...Click on Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools> Disc Cleanup
2. Defrag the Hard Drive...Click on Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disc Defragmenter.
3...Delete any unused programs,files,pictures...etc.
4. Final resort: System Restore...this will restore your computer to a time when it was operating good, you have to pick the date when it was running good....Click Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore
After you have completed the above your computer should run faster.
Please take time to rate me

Hiya guys, My windows vista would not boot, so I burned Ubuntu flying disc and it loaded properly, and I managed to salvage my files from hard disk.. Now I really would need a recovery disc, since i don't...

Ok. Then you can Factory Restore your PC. Doing this, as you very well know, will remove all data and put your PC in a state which it was in when you bought it.
  1. Restart your PC(or turn it on)
  2. Fit F11(or anything that relates to recovery)
  3. Cancel the AutoDetect if it starts up
  4. When you land on the screen with a window that has quite a few options in it, look for one that reads Factory Restore/Recovery.
  5. Choose the option and wait for your PC to be restored.
This option is automated and really quick.
When you log in to your windows again, check if it is possible to make a recovery disc. If so, please get one done. This will help if your recovery partition goes for a toss. Let me know if you need more detail or help. If your problem is resolved, please rate.

Acer aspire not loading to windows

Hi,

If you have recovery disc or back up disc put it in and restart the PC and start tapping the F12 key until at the Acer splash screen, you should get now see your boot order, now use your up and down cursor key to highlight the CD/DVD drive and then press enter, this will now start the recovery disc that you put in, just follow the on-screen instructions.

If you don't have a disc, restart the PC and at the Acer splash screen start tapping the ALT+F10 or just F10 and if you have a recovery partition on your hardrive then the recovery program will start up, just follow the on-screen instructions.

Thanks

My 0xc000000c "Restore Failed" prompt seemed to be the result of disk surface damage on the restore disk. After burning the restore disk to a new disk, the restore proceeded normally. Try making a copy of the original restore disk to a known good blank disk.
