Question about LG Televison & Video
The volume on my lg ty quit working. It will not respond to the remote, and when I manually increase the volume from 0 it just goes back to zero. I have had the 42" hd tv for 2 years. Suddenly, the volume increased to very high, and then dropped rapidly to 0, and will not hold any volume any more.
I hate to give you the bad news, but this is not an easy fix for a do it yourself-er. you will need the internal diagram to fix this. There is an IC (intregrated circuit) chip inside that has most likely failed. I would recommend that you take it to a qualified repair shop for estimate or repair. There is really nothing in this case that you can do to fix it yourself without the proper equipment.
if you have an external jack for hooking up a surround system you may try to route the volume through this type of device and control the volume that way, but this is just a temp solution. Best of luck to you, I hope this helps.
