Should be three screws on top of console. Remove and the console should roll forward to expose the switch. If that doesn't get you to it, take a putty knife and put it under the top on the right and left side in front of the machine and release the clips by pushing in. Lift the top

My maytag atlantis will fill but now wont run or drain. If it is the lid switch how do I fix it?

If it is a lid switch, you replace it, however I suggest a continuity test with a Volt/Ohm meter. The switch needs to be able to open and close, electrically.

I have a maytag atlantis washer it will fill with water but then it won't do anything. what could it be?

This problem can be caused by a variety of malfunctions, or failures however the most likely culprit is the lid switch. The lid switch is part #3 shown in the following diagram. The switch mounts at the rear of the chassis top part #1 with screws part #12.

Maytag Atlantis MAV6451 - The machine buzzed and stopped. Now it wont run. Dont think its the lid switch

does it fill with water?
Does it not do anything after it fills?
If this is the case than it is most definitely the lid switch.
I recently had the exact same problem. Easy fix if you are handy.
Remove back of control panel to access the mounting screws. this will give you hand access to the lid switch. Try manually activating it after letting it fill. Replace switch or repair if able.
Good luck

I have a Maytag top load washer model # Mav7200AWW. There is no power at all. I have tested the eletrical cord from the wall to the washer and there is power there. So it is not the cord. Still no power....

Below are some diagnostic hekp tips, courtesy of www.repairclinic.com.

I have included a link to the lid switch diagram, which is the most common failure part.
Also, it appears that there is no independent fuse in this model.

Warning! To avoid personal injury or even death, always disconnect your appliance from its power source--that is, unplug it or break the connection at the circuit breaker or fuse box--before you do any troubleshooting or repair work on your appliance. Also, because some components may have sharp edges, use caution while working on your appliance.
If your washer doesn't seem to work at all, check these:

No power
Lid switch
No power Check to see whether power is getting to the washing machine. Is it plugged in? Has a fuse blown or is a circuit breaker tripped?

Lid switch If the lid switch is defective, your washer can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washer to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.

Some machines have a special lid-switch fuse near the lid switch, inside the control panel. If this fuse blows, the unit won't fill with water until you replace the fuse.

Loud squeal

Just found a suggested solution to this problem and it is the same suggestion I received from a colleague who worked on repairs to the these types of appliances. Have not tried it yet, but will and then post a follow up. Check out the solution at www.applianceaid.com. It is apparently the brake that stops the tub at the end of the cyclehat causes this squealing.

Good luck

Maytag Atlantis washer will not drain and spin unless you lift the lid

The cheaper thing to check first is is your lid bent? The lid switch is in the center of the lid. If it "droops" or has been bent, it shaft on the back of the lid cant hit the switch. Open the lid and apply pressure in the bottom, center of the lid. This usually corrects the problem without replacing the switch.
