Question about Toastmaster 1183N Bread Maker
The paddle in the bucket freezes up, soon after it starts kneading, then it tries to go again but only in spurts with screeching. Now I heard a loud screeching and it had completely stalled and wouldn't turn at all.
The place the bucket fits into spins freely but it is not making contact with internal parts. There are bits of black rubber that have been 'chewed' loose from the bucket gear on the outside center shaft. Is this repairable? I love the bread baker and have not had problems until it started stalling It is a Corner Bakery model #1183 Serial # 709KB10428
I have found it necessary to periodically remove the shaft from the pans of breadmakers and clean off the carbon that is "coked" grease. I polish the shaft with crocus cloth and clean out the bearing. Often one has to remove a "C" clip to dis-assemble the shaft from the pan.
After cleaning I relube it with FOODSAFE grease before re-assembly.
