My canon selphy cp780 keeps shutting off after a minute or two of using it. I am only able to cycle thru about 5 pictures on the photocard before the screen just goes blank.

Selphy cp780 continues to say ink cartridge empty even after installing new one. Tried 2 new ones to be certain it wasn't the cartridge, same thing...tells me ink cartridge empty install new.

try and reset your printer, unplug the power cord and wait 10 min, then plug back in,understand that Canon has installed a chip so you cannot use refilled cartridges,or cartridges you refill,if this doesn't work, then contact Canon, and you could get the same message I got take it in to be repaired, (to costly), so I end up buying a new one,,

I insert ink cassete into it"s selphy cp780 photo

Go to section on Error Messages at page 32 of the User Guide found at:

http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/0/0300002060/02/SELPHYCP780_PUG_EN_03.pdf

It will tell you to remove and reinstall the ink cassette. Try this and make sure you install correctly as per instructions on page 11 of the User Guide.

If this does not resolve the problem, do a complete power down of the printer. Turn off and unplug from the power supply. Lets rest fro a few minutes and then plug back in to the power supply and if necessary turn on power. This should allow your printer to reset and hopefully recognize that a new ink cassette has been installed.

Trust this helps. Please vote. :)
