Cut and paste from internet explorer, freezes word

I have intermittant problems where the cut and paste function, copying written print or graphic photos from various Internet Explorer websites, freezes Word. There is no error message, but the hourglass remains on the page that freezes. Other open programs will eventually freeze as well if you enter them after the freeze. The only way I know how to unfreeze it is to press con + alt + del, which generates a help screen that allows you to shut down a system that is not responding. This allows all other programs to resume functioning normally. Sometimes the cut and paste function works perfectly from a particular website page, but then mysteriously, after several successful pastes, it will freeze, even if I'm copying from the same paragraph of material. Note: Because this has happened so often, I have noticed that if I cut and paste it into an empty e-mail document from Outlook Express, and then cut and paste from there back to Word, that this usually works - - also if I use the Notepad function. However, these extra steps take much longer. On rare occasions, the cut and paste function will not work at all in Word (it freezes), an e-mail document (which remains blank, though the mouse has been affected, but nothing can be seen), or Notepad (which may only copy part of the document and mysteriously be unable to copy a large majority of what's needed, even on repeated attempts) In addition, recently there is a noticeable start up problem in Internet Explorer, where it may take 30 - 45 seconds to open, or it may freeze, in which case I may need to close it and re-open it again. Sometimes it takes 3 or 4 attempt to finally open. All updates are current, we have run spyware programs, full system scans, a defrag, all with no noticeable change in the problems. Any suggestions?

How do I cut an image from the internet?

There are several ways to capture images from the internet.

In your browser, right click on an image and select Save Image As...
or Copy Image and then paste into your graphics application.
Some web pages use programming to prevent copying images and the right click and copy/save won't work easily. There are ways around it, but you have to start hacking the copy protection code.

Do a screen or window capture:
On a Windows PC, look for a Print Scr (Print Screen) key on your keyboard.
Press that key and the whole screen will copied to the "clipboard" and can be pasted into another application. You may need to use another key in combination with Print Scr. I have to press the Fn key + Print Scr on my keyboard. Don't actually type the "+".
Also, the Alt key + Print Scr will capture only the current window, not the whole screen.

There are many screen capture programs out there as well. IrFanView is an excellent free graphics tool with a screen capture feature.

Internet explorer task bar missing

Try pressing the left Alt key alone. Does the menu bar appear?
Try right-clicking the area where the menu bar is supposed to be. Try different spots around the upper part of the window, eventually you should see in the context menu an option to turn on the menu bar.

Pasteing and how it works

If you mean pasting in relation to cut / copy & pasting

How it works
When you cut or copy something, for example text, it is saved into the clipboard. Then when you paste, the text that is in the clipboard gets pasted. You can paste that same text more than once, it stays in the clipboard until it is over written (by cutting ot copying something else) or you restart your PC.

How to use it
There is a couple of ways to cut / copy & paste

1. Use right clicking menu
you can select something, some text for example, then right click on it with your mouse and select Cut or Copy. To paste right click where you want the text to be pasted and select Paste

2. Use application's Edit drop down menu
you can select something, some text for example, then select the application's Edit drop down menu and select Cut or Copy. To paste click where you want the text to be pasted select the application's Edit drop down menu and select Paste

3. Use keyboard shortcuts
you can select something, some text for example, then press Ctrl + X to Cut or Ctrl + C to Copy. To paste click where you want the text to be pasted then press Ctrl + V to Paste

Hope this helps
