Whether or not you have a flat screen or plasma or LCD, you will not be recieving in High Definition unless you talk to your cable company and get a High Definition cable box if it's Comcast, but I believe all cable companies have a special box that you will need to receive in HD.

I recently got cable and all of my high defenition channels are not coming in.i need to know how to wire the tv to my cable and dvd player.i have a memorex flat screen hd tv

have you done a new channel search since you got cable? The best cable to use for high def is an HDMI, but make sure your cable box, dvd player, and tv have the correct plug.

No sound/audio device recognized

Tell you what, try the new High defenition audio drivers from Realtek. it's available on their homepage. That's been a big problem, due to the lack of information (can you beleve that!) from Realtek. HD drivers are preparation for windows of as the name sais High Defenition sound. After that normaly windows (XP) gets everything done by itself.

The box form the cable company is all you will need. If you want to receive high defenition you will need a cable box with component output on it and also will need tosubscribe to HD service with the cable company to receive a high defenition picture.
