How should i define a printer in a wired intenet home?

Well, if the printer is network capable, it can be connected to the network router either wirelessly or wired, whichever the printer has and you wish to use. Once you have made the connection (you need to set it up with one of the computers for network use), then you can go to each of the other machines and and "add printer", looking for the network device. Each machine will detect the printer, and then load drivers to support the use. If your printer is NOT network capable, it gets slightly more complicated. You would have to install the printer on one machine, then ensure that the "share printer" option is selected. Other machines can use that printer on the network so long as the machine that the printer is attached to is powered on and on the network. They would do a search for the printer the same as before.

Do you have the latest version of wrt? Even if you do, it may have flashed incorrectly. I would try loading it again.

Also verify that your machine can connect via another router. This will help to assign blame to router and you will have fewer issues to workout.

You could also try another software: dd-wrt for the router.

Bought a Belkin router model # f5d8326 4 v2 was told this worked for cable modems not working yet

Make sure the modem is configured properly so it would detect the router. Most of the time, modems now has DCHP capability, meaning it has the ability to hold the username and password you ISP has provided you. The most effective way of making modems work with routers is to bridge the modem first before connecting the router.

Bridging the modem is done by opening the interface of the modem. To pull up the interface of the modem, type the default gateway of the modem in the address bar of your browser(intenet explorer)

Look for the "connection configuration" button and choose "bridge ethernet" as the connection type.

Once the modem is bridged, connect the router to the modem, then configure the router to set the connection type to pppoe. Once done, type your username and pw your ISP have provided the save the settings. This should cpnnect you online..

How do i hook up another computer to my 2wire

If you would like to use two computers on the same intenet, you'll need to purchase a router. Linksys is one of the top brands in routers.

Routers allow you to connect a vast amount of computers to your inter. The router connect to your modem and then you connect the two computers to your router.

A decent price of a router is about 49.99. Here is a good one from Best Buy: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp;jsessionid=ODENRVPZTXBBRKC4D3JFAGI?_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1&id=pcat17071&type=page&st=linksys+router&sc=Global&cp=1&nrp=15&sp=&qp=&list=n&iht=y&usc=All+Categories&ks=960
