There is a glitch on those AV7 boards ata controler I think. Check the website for the new drivers supposedly they help, but all they did was crash my raid after I installed them. I ended up cloning the whole raid over to a single large sata drive and put in an ide to sata card (non raid unfortunately) and the problem went away. I only had the problem under very heavy disk loading. It seemed to not be quite so bad when I added some additional cooling aimed at the motherboard. As to if it will help your software problem I am unsure. However the only time mine did the mini dump was when I was doing heavy video editing work and after nixing the raid it fixed it, But then again a bad drive in a raid can cause that also.

Hi

Well about guaranteed your 2 gigs ram is probably DDR II ram which has maximum of four gigs with 64 bit processing and 2 with 32 bit is. So motherboard needs upgrade. 35.00 for good giabit or board with 1000 megs a sec ethernet lan. With ddrIII ram. And upgrade operating system I believe win 8 has max 16 gig ram win 7 uses 8 gis vista and longhorn 64 use 4 and xp normal edition 32 bit uses 2 max. So you about have to run win 7 or 8. Win 7 will become direct x incomparable at some point making us change to win 8. Win8 cost like 300 to 350 and tiger direct.com has good deal of the win 7 pro media center for 75 bucks. So spend 150 on good speed 8 gig ram, 125 bucks for 12 core and at 4 GHz I think. And a board for 35. Reuse all other componets. And you\'ll have a 2500 dollar computer and best on the block. Ubuntu will NOT run on a muti-core motherboards properly. You should've just installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit with SP1 or Puppy Linux Live.

I have LatitudeD510 and my disk makes lot of noise. Its on Windows7 and I think the disk is a Hitachi - HTS541040G9AT00

HI,
chances are that you simply do not have the resources to run windows 7. These are the basic (recommended minimum), for windows 7

  • 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor.
  • 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit).
  • 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit).
  • DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
  • 1 more GB of RAM & 15 GB more HDD space to run 7 in XP Mode.

These are the typical resources that come with your machine.

D510HI

  • Processor Pentium M 1.73 GHz
  • Ram Installed Size 512.0 MB
  • Technology DDR2 SDRAM
  • Hard Drive 40.0 GB

  • OS Provided Microsoft Windows XP Professional
It would probably be advisable to go back to XP
Good luck

Will 64-bit Wiindows 7 work on dell inspiron 1300?

Hi.
Dell only support this laptop to XP with drivers, I therefore doubt you would even get the 32 bit version of Windows 7 to work on this

Tosheiba Netbook NB205-N210 2 GIG, upgrade to Windows 7

I personally have not but if you are concerned how it will run, you should be fine, windows 7 is very efficent on resources.
  • 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
  • 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
  • 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
  • DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
These are system specs so if you exceed these then your laptop will run great.

    Hope this helps

Get a 600 watt they are better and will handle all that you need the price from a 450 W to 600W is not much I run 7 dvd's a ATI Video capture card with a 64 bit AMD processors 1 80 gig Hd 2 Sata Drives 120 gig and sound blaster audio card and more and the 600 watt does fine The Corsair is ok Where to you think your going to get it at on line? or at a store? You can buy them at
tiger direct.com or Fry's.com The 600 watt ATI power supply will have 6 standard HD connecotors and I use three Y's for more and never had any problem with mine.
