Re: 4 wheel dive problems.

For the older wranglers using the vacuum system to engage and disengage 4wd, check this out. You should have red, yellow, green, and blue vacuum hoses coming from the transfer case. The red line ends in a check valve so when you do maintenance you can make sure you have vacuum. The yellow line runs to the middle port on the Command-Trac motor. It T's off and runs to a check valve that T's into a black vacuum line. The green line runs to the port on the outside of the Command-Trac motor. The blue line runs to an air vent filter. The black line runs from the inner most port on the Command-Trac motor to the 4wd indicator light and switch. Along the way it's T'd into by the yellow line I was talking about earlier. Hope that helps

Re: 4 wheel dive problems.

Hi, I have 97 jeep TJ sahara and my 4 wheel engages sometimes but when I want to get off the 4 wheel drive to 2 wheel drive. It stays in 4 wheel drive for about a minutes while driving and suddenly the jeep gets a jolt and bang sound, that is coming from 4 wheel slipping off to 2 wheel. One mechanic shop told me that it is the universal joint or U-Joint being out of placement.

Volume knob does not work

Get some tuner cleaner (radio shack etc.) and using the thin straw it comes with, spray generously into the volume knob shafy (removethe plastic knob first). Spray while rapidly moving shaft back and forth. Repeat 2-3 more times and all should be good. You have dust builup inside, causing it to go haywire!

Make sure you do this with the stereo OFF!

How do I disassemble the dash board ???

1. Run the wire around the windshield frame, down the side of the dash, and across the footwell until it reaches the center console section. 2. Remove the top panel of the dash stack by prying up on the back edge until it pops free. There are two clips in the back corners, and it will roll off toward the front. 3. There are a couple of bolts that hold the front bezel in. Remove them, and then gently pry the rest of the bezel off -- there are 4-6 more clips like the ones from the dash top panel holding it in place. 4. Find the gray wire with the orange stripe running to the lefthand cigarette lighter. This is ignition switched power. Tap the radar detector leads into that wire. This will cause the detector to come on when you turn the ignition on, and off when the ignition is off. 5. Close everything back up. You're done!

DEH-P2500 Not Working At All

i have the same unit i put it in my jeep wrangler had problems as far as which 2 hot wires need to be hooked up. finnally figured it out. take it out hook up the hot wire and ground straight to the battery, it should come on if it does come on then you have a problem in the wiring from the dash, to make sure the wiring in the dash is good you should check your fuses first, then do a continuity test with a volt meter to check for a break in the wire wether it being ground or hot. weed out the simple problems first. if your head unit does not come on from direct hook up to the battery then the problem exist in your head unit
