Question about Sony Network Walkman NW-A3000 MP3 Player

1 Answer

SONY NW-A3000 Hello, My A3000 is not being "recognised" by (several) PC's - The device is not being recognised by the Sony connect software. I have tried several USB connection leads, and re-installed the software. When physically connected to the PC, the view window on the A300 displays "connecting" (but does not get any further - no matter how long I leave it). If I disconnect the lead the A3000 window then displays "Hard disk not properly initialised - Initialise from settings". I have done this several times now with nil improvement). Help ! . . .

i have exactly the same problem but on sonic stage not connect. the computer recognises that the mp3 player is attached but sonicstage doesnt. ive reset several times and restored factory settings by reseting all settings. the next option would be to initialize the disk but that would mean deleting all my music and i dont want to do that if i am still going to be unable to put music on after. it makes it useless. arggg!

I am also suffering the same problem. I am using Sonic Stage 4.3. It worked up until a few weeks ago, and for no apparrent reason suddely stopped being recognised by the player. now when i connect my player, the SS program freezes. My girlfiends NW-S600 is still recognised so this makes me think that it is the device.

I had to download Sonicstage according to the add of connect player!

Now, I've done that, I want to transfer my stuff to the mp3: nothing happens. Sonicstage tells me my device is not attached to my computer. My device is connected for 4 hours again, i tried a lot of things e.g.: reconnecting, other USB-channels, re-installing my mp3's software, re-installing my computers software, both when mp3 attached to it or not.

And yet, my mp3 is not found by sonicstage. However, my pc in fact DOES recognise my player. just the program won't.

    What now?

i have installed sonicstage 4.3 and i was using it as an upgrade from the original connect player software. All was fine until recently though, every time i click on sonicstage with my nw a3000 player connected it comes up with an error message and shuts down! Wtf?! I need a solution to this problem very badly! i hate being with my player! {-s

Hey, I've got the NW-A3000 but if I connect to PC it takes ages before the Start screen ( A text like: Every moment has its music etc etc ) with the loading cube at the lower right is loaded. And sometimes it freezes, the reset button does not work. It used to work but suddently it just stopped. And most of the time, it freezes when the start screen ends... Anyone got idea's ? Please help me.
    Greetings Me.

Bad news - if you tried multiple pc's and it still failed, then your player is done.

Make sure you:
reset the player
upgraded the firmware
used the recovery tool
called Sony to be sure
last ditch effort:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware.
Wizard.

Connect player does not recognise my player

first, uninstall the SONY software. Next, power down. Then restart and run "Disk Cleanup", "Error check" and "defrag". Next power down. Then restart and install Sony-ware. Then power down. Then restart and connect SONY. Any change? If not, then run "System restore" and select a restore point prior to Sony-ware.

Cannot import music into the mp3 device

The connect player doesnt work. Download the latest software package from the sony website which raplaces it- Sonicstage-CP. The link is below. http://www.sony.co.uk/view/ShowArticle.action?section=en_GB_Products&articlesection=1&article=1154694485490&productcategory=%2FAudio%2FNetwork+Walkman&productmodel=%2FAudio%2FNetwork+Walkman%2FNW-A3000&productsku=NWA3000B.CEK&site=odw_en_GB Also, whilst downloading SS-CP, upgrade your firmware to 3.0. The link is somewhere on the download page for SS-CP. It works. Hope this helps.
