Question about Emerson Televison & Video

My television doesn't have a menu button, and I don't have a remote, so I have no way of changing to channel three, which I need to set up my television. What can I do?

You might be able to purchase a universal remote that might work. Otherwise there is no way of programming these without a remote.

My solution: Buy a universal remote. You can get them at most electronic stores. After finding brand code in booket(usually included with new remote),enter the code then presto!

How do I set my TV channel to 3 without the remote?


Hi John,

If channel 3 is skipping by the unit when pressing the channel button key at the front panel, it might be accidentally deleted on the channel selection. If you don't have a remote control, there's no way to add it on the selection. All you have to do is to re-scan the channel by entering to Set-up Menu. Press the Menu button key repeatedly at the front panel to show the "On Screen Menu". Select " EZ Program" to automatically finds and store the channels available at your area. Once the scan is finished, you can now watch all the channels available including channel 3.

Remote doesn't control on/off,volume or channels


Remote won't workThe most common reasons the remote won't work is that the batteries are dead or it hasn't been programmed properly. It's often easy to fix. Here are the steps to take to troubleshoot the problem.
Make sure you have a clear path between the remote and the infrared eye on your equipment. Clear any dust or debris that may be covering the eye.

Try unlocking the battery-saving mode. When a button is pressed for longer than three minutes, the remote goes into battery-saving mode. Press the SAT mode button at the top to unlock it. Your remote should work properly.

Check the batteries. When you press a mode button, does it light up? If not, you may be out of juice. Check to make sure they are in the right way, with the metal ends making good connections with the metal in the remote. If they're in correctly and you still don't get power, try replacing them. Check to make sure the remote is programmed properly, which basically means you reprogram it to work with your receiver, TV and any other components. I accidently pressed the channel button on my remote instead of the volume button. I now have no picture or sound. I tried returning to the previous channel but it keeps saying " channel not...


Not familiar with your model, but the problem sounds generic. I am guessing your set is hooked to a cable tv box, and that is where you need to change channels. I also guess that when you changed channels on your TV you probably moved from channel 3 to either channel 2 or 4 and the cable tv box is not sending to those channels so you lose picture and sound. Now, more guessing, you try to put the channel back to 3 on your TV, but still nothing happens. OK, if close so far, there are a couple of things to try. First, be really sure you are actually going back to the same channel you started with. Assuming you don't actually have the signal coming in on an auxiliary line-in and that you had it coming in on a channel, you may need to reset the presets on the television so that it recognizes the one important channel the cable tv box is sending out -- just follow your television menu to select or set channels. There is one more possible easy problem ... I have seen this one happen, after getting the channel correct and reset, if it still doesn't work, you mght need to turn the set off and wait one minute, then turn it back on WHILE the cable box is ON. This can cause the set to RE-Latch onto the cable box signal. It really doesn't sound like something is truly broken or needs replacement, sounds more like a user error. If your set is still under warranty, just call the Panasonic hotline (find it in Google, and they may be able to walk you through exact instructions for your model). Hope this helps.

If you don`t have input selector on the set or in the menu you might be able to get it with the channel buttons, that would be right below channel 2 or above 125

No factory remote i can't acess to the menu system


Most televisions and monitors have a menu button next to the power, volume, and channel buttons on the face, top, or side of the set. It can be a pain but you can usually press the menu button to bring the menu up and then select and change settings by pressing menu again to choose a setting and using the channel and/or volume up and down buttons to raise or lower the setting. The exact function varies based on the set so you may need to fiddle around a bit. Unfortunately some sets do require the remote to perform some functions.

RCA 52 is los the configuration after a blackout.


One or more of the buttons on the front of the set is bad. Best thing is to take the front panel off. About eight TORX T-20 screws from the back to get the speaker grille and panel off, then three more on the front and the whole panel with the button assembly will come off. Simplest fix is to just pull the plug off and disconnect the button assembly. the remote will still work.

I beleve there are three settings personal,video,game..


Without the remote, some TV's are useless.  Is there a menu button on the TV itself?  If so, you will have to determine what buttons do what.  For example, volume up and down may let you scroll through the menu while channel up and down may let you go left or right in the menu.  If you only have volume, chanel and input/source buttons, you may need to order a new remote to solve this.
