The specs for the Dell Inspiron 6000 with the Intel PRO/Wireless card
are list as 802.11b or 802.11g while the router you bought uses 802.11n.
Your best bet at this point would be to either return the linksys router and get an 802.11g model which is slower than 802.11n, but will be supported by your laptop. Or you can buy a 802.11n wireless adapter for your laptop to connect to your new router. Either way the rules of wireless are you need your device and router to be speaking the same wireless standard. So, pick 802.11n or 802.11g and stick with that standard for your gear.
