Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
Here's some things to try.
Remove the hard drive from the console, (while it's off of course), and then turn the console on without it. See if it freezes during gameplay.
There's a common issue with the 360's where the cache size (cache is just a fancy word for storage for data) gets too large, and the read/write speed between hard drive and dvd-rom gets too long, and causes the system to hang.
IF this is the case; where it doesn't freeze while the hard drive is out, you can do something simple to "clear the cache".
Turn the console back off, and put the hard drive back in.
Turn the 360 back on.
Locate the system section in the 360 dashboard.
select Memory, and then hard drive, and then press Y. (device options screen).
At this screen press these buttons in sequence:
X,X,left bumper, right bumper, X, X.
This brings up a maintenance screen. Press A for Yes.
Since you are playing a game, and there is no error message. I'm 86% sure this will solve your issue.
the other 14% that is unsure, is because it may in fact be a faulty system. If this advice doesn't help you out, I advise you to contact microsoft for further support. But you know what they'll do. They will surely have you send it in, and we all hate that. So I wish the best of luck with the issue.
