I get noise when the print module goes across, and also smudge on the left side of the paper. How can I remove print module to see if something is stuck underneath?

Check for any small paper jam. Check the rollers, also use an alcohol swab to clean the rollers and check for ink leaking. Check you ink pad, it could be time for a new one.
If you check the quality of printing by changing the cartridge, then you only have to replace Fuser Unit. Probably that when you remove the sheet (paper jam) fixing deteriorated film oven. Best printer behind the door (rear door) and a flashlight to look to see when you print you can see something broken, a foil. the printer stopped trying to push the fuser - the two blue clamps can not be fixed because of this well and make noise.
in most cases breaking a finger to catch the oven (the clip is on the side of the oven gear) so when you change the oven will resolve the problem with noise ASSEMBLEY FUSER FOR HP 4200 - RM1-0014-230CN
The print in the smudged area, does it wipe off the page like not fused well to the paper. Do you also have a crinkling noise, if so the sleeve in the fixing assembly has torn. You may still have it under warranty with canon and can get it fixed for free.
Good luck
Hi,
As you mentioned that the printer makes loud grinding noise or squeaking when page comes out than i feel this is the noise coming out due to faulty fuser.
I want to be sure so please open the rear bin and try to print if still noise comes than i m sure it is fuser.
If there are smudges on the printed page or if some film coating is coming out with printed page than fuser roller are physically damage.
However in this case i assume fuser is faulty.
If there opening the rear bin noise goes off than top output rollers are faulty.
It seems like your PCU's are dirty and are picking up extra toner. Take them out and look at the green rollers, any extra finger prints or dirt on them? Clean them with a clean paper towel.
Also, check your transfer unit below the PCU's, that may need cleaning or replacing. You can pull that out after removing both PCUs, turn the little screww and look at it. That can also be cleaned with a cleaning wipe or a damp paper towel. There's a little tab that you can turn to free the rollers (they'll still be a little tight) bu then you can turn the rollers to expose more surface area.
Good luck. Be sure to rate the post if it works for you.
Does it make noise when it first feeds paper or when the print module sweeps across? It's possible that there is some obstruction in the paper path or in the way of the print module. Is the noise constant or only when a certain action occurs? Let me know.
On my MP780, be careful to select the appropriate paper type; I was getting black smudges on the left side of my envelopes until I explicitly set that my paper type was "envelope" from "plain paper".
Another idea is to adjust the "ink drying wait time" to a higher level.
