In the early fifties transistors were unheard of; it took a long time for the tubes to warm up...this is why you get sound after 2 minutes for no image, it could be a host of things not the least of which is the crt itself or the flyback transformer...neither of which you should touch or fiddle with unless you have years of extensive experience in electronics...that transformer can hold 10,000 volts or more even when the unit is unplugged!

It's doubtful you will find parts for that tv...you can try some antique shops but it's all but certain there are no parts for that tv anymore...sorry to say that.

You can usually find equivalent screws at the local hardware store or Home Depot or Lowes. And, the bracket company may be easier to get screws from than the tv. Also, try thrift stores where they have used mounting brackets and parts laying around.

Aside from a TV what else can I store in my entertainment center?

Most entertainment centers are built with storage areas. Depending on what you plan to store there, will help determine the size of the unit. Some people only plan on storing their television and other associated media (for instance a DVD player, maybe a PlayStation unit); while others may want room to store their DVD's, books, etc.

Hello Jennifer
Thrift Stores have a reputation for being cold and damp, plus it may have been stored somewhere before being taken to the Thrift Store. The zapping sound you hear maybe damp inside being arced by the high voltage. It may fix itself after being stored in a warm kitchen. If not, you need to take it to a service agent to be looked at. There are no user serviceable parts and the case is held on by security screws. The inside of microwaves are so dangerous, due to radiation that can cause blindness in 15 seconds, high voltage and highly poisonous Beryllium in the magnetron.

I told the delivery men I didn't want the TV. I told the furniture delivery men, I didn't want the product and take it back. If I can't find something simple to fix without paying for it, forget it.
