I was given a t610 and have bought a vodaphone chip for it (& can't get hold of a manual)
Can make and receive calls but can't sent either picture or just straightforward texts
How do I correct this please?

I fixed the problem by making sure the bluetooth light stayed lit instead of flashing. Because as long as the bluetooth light is flashing it's not in the connecting Mode. You can do this by holding the call button on the bluetooth for about 6 to 10 seconds.
Ask Vodaphone ES if "intercariier MMS" works. Some cariers today still do not allow MMS messaging to leave their network (in order to message someone on another network).
If Vodaphone claims that sending an MMS to an Orange customer is possible, go to the nearest store and ask for a demo... I have seen reps say "it works", when it does not.... when that is the case, the carrier (Vodaphone in this case) does not like to advertise their limitation.
I assume you've called your cell phone company? This happened to me once (I was with AT&T/Cingular and even had the same phone at the time, I believe), and they had to do something on their end to reconnect me to a network.
