What is the sum if the quotient of 2/3 and 7/12 is added to 17/14

Proceed step by step.
Quotient of (2/3) by (7/12) =(2/3)/(7/12)=(2/3)*(12/7)=8/7
Sum of 8/7 and 17/14 is 8/7+17/14=16/14+17/14=(33/14)

Plank of wood 2 metres long. cut into two lenghts. longer piece is four times the lenght of shorter piece. how long is each lenght?

It is solved by writing an equation
If the shorter piece is y cm, then the the longer piece would be 4y which is four times the shorter length. The total of these 2 together is 2meters or 200 cm, Now write the equation (2 pieces together is 200cm)

y + 4y = 200
5y =200
y =40
Since we have taken the lengh of shorter piece as y,
Shorter piece=40 cm OR 0.4m
Longer piece =160cm OR 1.6m
I have written the steps in detail for you to understand the process
Good luck
Longer piece= 160cm
