Question about Televison & Video

No sound on Panasonic

This was repaired once, under warranty. Happened again and now Panasonic won't honor the warranty as they filed chapter 11 and have new ownership. Obviously, there is something wrong with the way these tv's were made. My question is, if I hook up an outside speaker or 'surround sound' amplifier, would that bypass the internal problem?

Thanks so much!!

Jen,
Its a shame that companies are doing this lately with the economy being where it is.
Connecting a surround sound system is a great idea. Remember you must run the red and white audio out directly from a cablebox or DVD player (not the TV), if you buy a dolby digital surround system then you can use the single digital coax or fibre optic cable instead of the stereo red and white ones.
Hope I have helped you in some way, if your issue has been solved please click accept.
But if you have more questions please respond and I will reply asap
Thanks
Eric

Jennifer, if your tv has external audio out jacks sometimes called audio monitor jacks, it would be possible to attach the dubbing cables to the aux in of a surround system or a power amp. If you are using any type of cable or satelite box, these things usually have video/audio out jacks too.good luck

Have you tried this http://www.franklinchef.com/service_call.html for a service. With the unit being this new, it's under warranty. Your sealed system is warrantied for 5 years. This is why you are having trouble finding someone to work on it plus Franklin Ind. does not want to pay the service company when they are sent the bill. Where are you located. If your close, i'll see what I can do about repairing it for you. Expect to have to pay for service from anyone due to the service company having so much trouble getting paid themselves. Although you should be reimbursed after Franklin pays.

This was copied from Franklin Ind. web sight and this is why no one wants to repair their equipment.

If you purchased it with a warranty, you may be able to get Panasonic to repair it. Check your warranty to get the conditions for returning it. The "new" Circuit City is operating. I do not believe they will honor purchases under the "old" Circuit City. However you can ask at www.circuitcity.com

Replacing my new Ionic Breeze Quadra

Unfortunately Sharper Image has discontinued support on the product line.  There was a recall going on with the product but since the company is chapter 11 right now, I don't think it is being honored right now.
What happened was Consumer Reports ran a test on ionizers, Sharper Image received a bad score and filed a lawsuit.  They lost the suit and had to pay all legal bills causing Sharper Image to reorganize.

The EPA has reported that using ionizers in a house or business may be harmful to your health.  You can read an article about it on their website.

The Consumer Products Safety Commission is going to release a final report on all ionizers by the end of the year.  Their decision may discontinue all sales of any ionizers in the United States.  This industry should have been regulated years ago just by the EPA data alone and for some reason it has been ignored.

My plasma panasonic wont turn on

If you have 10 blinking red lights it is a problem with the DG board on the inside....replace this board and It will take care of any possible 10 blink issues.....

Caution: If you replace this board chances are it may happen again....go on ebay and get one for $25 to $80 and put it in yourself.....This is a known issue that Panasonic denies....

retail price is about $380 to $480 for a new one......dont do it!

PLASMA T.V.

ten flashes from the light is a problem that needs to be issolated by a tech the 1st board to check is the PA board, and all the boards require authorization from panasonic to replace. that is why a tech must do the repair. if the unit is under warranty they must honor the warranty. extended warranty must honor the agreement you signed or purchased. there are a total of 6 boards that can cause the 10 flashes and can be costly to repair that is why I say when ever buying these types of sets get the extended warranty. these sets are no the sets of old they are not componet level repaired but board level repaired.

Fedders Y Chassis Quit Running

Bummer. I bought an AEY08F2G that put out no warm air and very little cool air. Fedders filed chapter 11 in August. They do not honor warranties now, and apparently offer no repair service. I was fortunate that I bought mine from Venting Direct, and the unit was still within the 60 defective return period. They told me that Fedders units are junk. They provided full credit for the unit (plus shipping costs) without requiring that the unit be returned to them. My advice is to toss it. Live and learn.
