Question about Car Audio & Video

P reg Nissan Micra radio says ''secure''. I cannot enter code.

I have the code for the radio but have had 4 or 5 unsuccessful attempts to enter it. LCD now reads ''secure''.

Cheers for help. This is a code which had been written on to a service receipt for the car so I'm 99% sure it's correct. I just pressed the 4 digits in then pressed the upward tuning button as seemed to be recommended by handbook. Any other suggestions for correct method?

When I key in the code the numbers that appear on the screen don't correspond to the numbers I key in. Also instead of starting on the left and progressing from left to right they just stay on the fourth dash on the right, overwriting each other with each press. I obviously can't experiment too often or for too long but it appears to me that the numbers coming up on LCD are reading 12345...etc in consecutive order no matter which numbers are pressed

Either the code you are using is not correct or your method of entering it is incorrect as your radio is not recognising the code..

To reset it from SECURE, leave it SWITCHED ON ...UNDISTURBED for as long as it takes to automatically reset itself . Could be many hours ....but normally only an hour or two.

If you want to check that you have the right code then POST ANOTHER QUESTION quoting  the MAKE + MODEL of your radio plus ALL the LETTERS and NUMBERS on any LABELS , BARCODES or STAMPED IN THE METAL CASING.

If you are following the handbooks instructions , then that must be the  correct procedure

If that is the case then it looks like the wrong code...(.or a faulty radio )

Post the details of the radio and I`ll see if I can decode it

You go to the dealer for the radio code

Why would you remove the radio ?

The dealer has your Vin # & shouldn't need any radio serial #

Bought r reg nissan micra last week but no code for the radio just reads secure please help i miss listing to the radio thanks

There should be a RADIO code in the owners handbook ,,,,,, if not it's the local deealership for you and they will enter the manufacturers code for a small fee. (cheaper than a replacement radio ! )

Nissan Micra radio code

Hi

The solution here is easy. As you already have the serial no. of the radio/cassette - now all you need is the VIN (chassis) no of the vehicle it came from which you will find on the registration document.

The reason for this is that on original equipment stereos such as this the unit is totally locked into the Nissan network not only by the serial number of the unit but also the vehicle which it came from. This is an anti-theft measure which tightens security on the code.

On OE stereos like this there is no other way to retrieve the code because of the addition of the chassis no. into the equation.

You must go to your nearest Nissan dealer and they will run the numbers for you and give you the code straightaway.

The good news here is that Dealers will do this for free or a very small nominal fee. Once you have this information to hand there is no labour involved for them in retrieving the serial number of the unit itself and they generally do not charge anything for supplying this service.

Hope this helps. Please do rate my answer and thanks for using FixYa.

Nissan Micra automatic car Reg 2004 - CD player code

First make sure that the code has not been noted somewhere within the car (underneath the ash tray, glove box , rear of sun visor etc)

To see if your code is available here for free then the radio will have to be removed from the dashboard (and if you are lucky, someone may have written the code on the casing ) .

If not then POST ANOTHER QUESTION

quoting the radio MAKE+MODEL plus ALL the LETTERS+NUMBERS on ANY LABELS ,BARCODES or STAMPED IN THE METAL CASING

note: Unfortunately not all radios can be decoded using the Serial Number

Hv just bought an R reg nissan micra the radio is asking for a code but the previous owner does not know it!

try to get in touch with a nissan dealer, they will ask for the vin number of the car and the serial number of the radio, this serial number is located on the rear of the radio so it must be removed.
