Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
During game play my video went to garbage and my system started making an increasingly loud noise. I turned it off and received the red ring of death. I panicked. I unplugged everything and let my system sit for 30 minutes. I plugged everything back in and rrod was gone but I then had sound but no video. I proceeded to wipe the metal part of AV cables and reinsert them and the same issue was present. I then proceeded to try my system on two other TV’s with the same outcome. I've heard from friends this is a known issue with xbox360's. Any help would be grateful. I'm going through withdrawals.
If your 360 is still in warranty try to send it back to microsoft and ask for recall, cause it´s a hard problem to fix..RROD is terrible to fix, here in Brazil we have the same problem even worst sometimes...to fix your 360 you will need to reflow the bga solder points under the 360 GPU processor.. it is located under the dvd drive...and under the gpu heatsink..after reflowing your gpu..you will need to apply a thermal paste called artic silver...try to change the gpu heatsink with another better one...and install a internal coolermod...Any doubts call me...search for thermalright TR-360 the solution for XBOX !!! Good Luck !!!
