Mitsubish 55

1.) If it is a WS-55809 it uses 2 STK-392-570 Convergence Chips--I have seen a lot of these sets where the chips become flakey or intermittent.

2.) You can buy both chips on Ebay for about 13 dollars for a pair plus shipping.

3.) IF you are able to do this repair yourself you will save a lot of money---I have start to finish step by step instructions for this set--If you want them I can email them to you--they tell you what you will need to do the repair and I also have some photos of a few things on the board you may need to look at----

4.) If you keep using the set sooner or later the problem will get worse---at some point the set could even shut off and not turn back on.

5.) If you are not able to do this repair yourself shop around---most shops TRY to charge 300-400 for this repair---I have done hundreds of them here and charge 200-250 total.

6.) Make sure whoever you get to do this repair changes BOTH convergence chips--if only one is replaced you are going to have the same problem again in a short time.

7.) Shop around and if a shop says "It has to go to the shop" keep looking----any good tech can do this repair in your home---it takes about 1 hour.
