Not all programmes are broadcasted in a full screen format, they may show the programme with black bars on the top & bottom or left & right sides of the screen. If you have the TV in the Auto setting for the Aspect Ratio then the picture will be displayed in that size of format relative to the broadcast. If you want to fill the screen you can try a different Aspect Ratio to one that fills the screen to a wider image if available.

I recently purchased a Craig 19 in HD TV 720p Definition Tv. I had full screen when we first began watching it but now, I do not have full picture....what is the problem?

Chances are somehow the screen setting options were changed. Go into the menu and try the different screen formats. Usyaully there are stretch and zoom settings. When viewing a non-HD station you will typically see black bars on the sides of the screen set the option to your preference.

Our replacement samsung dlp tv lamp doesn't give us a full screen picture on any stations other than the High Definition stations, how do we fix this?

The high def stations are full screen as they are transmitted in a 16:9 ratio which is full screen. However the non HD channels are transmitted in a 4:3 ratio which is square and not full screen. Usually this can be rectifyed by putting your tv in 16:9 mode through it's menu's. You can also adjust this setting through your cable box if you are using one.

Hope this helps

Can't get full picture when not on HD station

Check its screen resolution settings. 4:3 and 16:9. If it is set to 16:9, bottom and top part of the screen will cut off. The same effect will be there if it is set to 'wide' format.

How to format my PHILIPS flat screen. I want the picture to be full screen

On the picture menu, you can select between 16:9, 4:3, zoom 1, zoom 2, etc. Depending on the station you are watching and whether or not it is an HD station, selecting zoom 1 or zoom 2 on your TV remote might give you full screen. Otherwise, on some DISH remotes there is a format or zoom button that will also change the size of the picture.
