Virtual Memory by default should be 1.5 x your actual memory installed. to make it larger you can increase your overall memory....

OR just right-click on My Computer, and select Properties. It will open a window called 'System Properties'. Click on the fourth tab on the top called 'Advanced'. Click on 'Settings'. It will open a new window called 'Performance Options'. Click on the second tab called 'Advanced'. On the bottom right there is a button called 'Change'. Click it, it opens a new window called 'Virtual Memory'. You will see three buttons called 'Custom size', 'system managed size', and 'no page file'.

If it is on system managed write down the number it has.. then choose the button 'Custom Size' and make it a bit more, like 2048 initial and 2048 maximum. If it is on custom size already, just increase the number by multiples of 512..... like 512, 1024, 1536, 2048, ect.

Good Luck

CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME HOW MUCH VIRTUAL MEMORY DOES A PATRIOT 2006 LAPTOP HAVE

Virtual memory?

Virtual memory is created and used by windows operating system.
This value can be changed and solely depends on the hard drive space available.

Simply put There isnt any limit, nor a minimum. The amount of virtual memory depends on how much was set up and can be increased or decreased at any time.

The purpose of virtual memory is to allow windows to use part of your hard drive as rams.

virtual memory and rams (conventional memory are different things)
you can have as much or as little as u need. increasing it improves performance.

So No one can actually answer that question. Simply put any amount you want is the correct answer!.

System says low on virtual memory even after I zero & format the hard drive with new operating installed?

this is virus instaled on computer bios or defective memory boards.
1st replace memory, and check-it.

Low virtual memory problem

your computer has used up its physical memory (RAM) and is currently utilizing and eating up hard drive space. A computer designates a certain amout of "FAKE" or wat they call virtual memory from the hard drive and when that is taken up it shows low virtual memory. Simply put this just means you need to increase the amount of ram on the computer :)
