Problem now solved - I thought I was adding my voice to someone else's problem. The update to Firefox 3.5.3 checks if you have an up-to-date version of Adobe Flash Player. If you click to download an update as it suggests, then it installs adobe download manager as a firefox addon in order to download the update.

The disconcerting thing is that one the installation has been completed, if you restart firefox then the whole process repeats! The solution was simple - just re-boot the computer and the download manager is uninstalled, and it stops repeating itself.

Remove addons

You MAY have a virus, Jeanette. Try running a virus scan, followed by a SpyBot scan, followed by a MalWareBytes scan, possibly even followed by a Kaspersky scan. If none of those work, you'll probably have to go through the process of removing them manually. It may take registry editing.

If you're talking about the addon from, then just click the Tools button on IE7 then "Manage Addons" then "Enable/Disable Addons. If you see there anything about chatphone, highlight it then click the option below-->Disable.

You can check it also in Remove Programs(XP) or Program Features(Vista, 7), uninstall the chatphone if it appears there.

Hope I've answered your question correctly.

Can't see videos or music

Can you view videos from other sites ie, Google Videos ?

If so, try clearing out all your temp files from the browsers, also have you recently installed an addon or accelerator for your browser.
If so, do a trial and error process by removing the addon to see if that fixes the problem.

Mozilla firefox isn't responding.

The best solution will be a "fresh start", meaning uninstalling any addons, and uninstalling Firefox itself, then reinstalling of only the necessary software.

Alternatively, you can try reset Firefox settings to see if it helps. Read this for instructions.
Removing un-needed addons is always a warm recommendation.

Best regards,

Addonics dvd/cd-rw

Sometimes this can be caused by settings or any hardware changes, but if you haven't changed anything probably not. I have had mine act like yours, I ended up installing a new DVD player.
