I suggest calling 1-800-879-8000 or going to the Hilti.com website and downloading a schematic for this tool. Let me know if you need more help

When you take the cocking lever and go foward with it to advance the booster strips you will notice that it is connected to a lever on top of the tool housing. With the cocking lever foward you put your finger on the lever on the housing holding it foward. Come back slightly with the cocking lever will release it. Then you can unscrew the front baseplate and remove the front guide, piston and piston guide. I would not suggest you go any further than that.

Need nails for RN312 Framing Gun

Special order only and they are expensive. We used to sell the Spotnails MNS5 which was the same tool as the Hilti. All we have left are some 8 penny nails. We have inquired about more as Spotnails does not produce them anymore and the cost wasn't worth it. You will be better off to buy a newer gun that shoots a more common nail.

Can anyone help. ive got a hilti dx450 that won't fire, ive stripped it down and given it a good clean but still no luck getting it to work. could anyone tell me if there should be some sort of firing...

You are correct on the firing pin. Those rim fire caps have to be struck by a firing pin or it won't fire. Pull the head apart and see is the firing pin stuck or missing.

Hilti RHN 9017 Framing Nailer.

Let's turn Doug's Question into John's question and see if we answer it :>D

No Manual for it

https://www.manualslib.com/h/hilti+9017.html

It would appear that this was a departure for Hilti into the Nailer Market and it didn't last.

I have had to strip the nail gun down to get water out of it after being flooded. What type of grease or Lubricant do I use when re-assembling

Most nail gun manufacturers make an assembly grease but a light grease like lithium will work, it's just to lube the rings during assembly. Most of it will get washed away by the gun oil you put in the gun each time you use it.

My husband has a Hilti RN312 nail gun and can not find nails for it, do you have an idea where we could find some?

The company below sells a full line of nails for your gun. The rn312 uses 17 degree nails and can be ordered from www.spotnails.com. Good luck with your nailing projects.
