Try freezing it, when frozen hit lightly with a hammer or something else hard. It might just scrape off aswell. And or you could try pouring boiling water on it and scraping too.

Empty and cool drier. If it's a lump of gum, try chilling it with an ice cube, give it time, when cold pick it off.

Gum in a dryer

Thankfully, removing gum from the dryer is more of a pain in the **** than actually difficult. There are a couple of approaches you can take.

The Melt it off Method.

Use a hair dryer to heat the gum until it is pliable and then scrape the gum off of the dryer.

The Freeze it Off Method.

Get a handful of ice cubes and a nylon scraper or an old credit card. Apply the ice cube to the gum and then scrape it off. Repeat until all of the visible gum has been removed.

Whichever method you use, inspect the drum carefully, the gum is sneaky and will hide where the fin meets the drum and on the back wall, and on door, etc. Use a flashlight to be sure there isn't any gum hiding in the drum.

Then get either Goo Gone or for electric dryers WD-40 works, too -do NOT use WD-40 in a gas dryer- and apply the solvent to paper towels. Carefully and thoroughly wipe out the entire inside of the dryer drum. This is to get rid of any lingering gum residue that might be hard to see.Do not skip the rinsing step. It is especially important if you used WD-40.

The next load through the RINSED dryer should be a load of rags, not your best blouse or favorite jeans. Got that?

How do I clean the inside drum? It looks like gum or something rubber like went through the dryer. There are skid type marks on it and afraid it will transfer to other light colored clothing.

you can dampen a white towel in bleach water and run the dryer with it in it by itself, you might have to do this more then once. Hope this helped Tim

Help..a piece of gum was found in my kenmore elite front loader. there is gum stuck all inside the drum. how should i get this clean?

I normally do not endorse specific products, but I have used "Goo-Gone" for just about any type of gummy or sticky substance and it works well. They sell it in a gel form that can be sprayed on allowed to sit for a few minutes. I would recommend you first use a straigth razor and, going with the curved surface of the drum, carefully peel off any large globs. Use care not to apply enough pressure to rmeove the pain off the drum surface. Then, use the gum remover for the remaining residue. Using terry cloth material like an old wash cloth or towel works well at removing gunk without damaging the surface. Once you have the gum cleaned off, use a good general purpose spray cleaner (like "409") to clean any of the gum remover residue off the drum surface.

If you need further assistance, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

The problem you have can be caused by something inside.. clothes blocking the outwater, or metal or something blocking the pump.. soulution: clean it..... Take away gum (the gum betwin pump and machin). Clean/take awway clothes and etc from inside... there can also be something in the gum... check it! and check the pump to.
