Kenmore bottom freezer died, fridge not cold either

check for the fan below if working. or u turn ur no frost frige off, doors open for two three day to allow the formation of ice to defrost ...if persist u need a techincial to check on the general components e.g termistor, heater, soloniod e,t,c

I would guess you have just caused a build up of ice to block the air way, which normally takes cold air into the fridge. manually defrost (unplug and wait until the ice goes away) then restart and it should be fine

Is the compressor in the lower back working. You may short of gas . have it regassed

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent between the freezer and fridge.The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp .

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

HI, Your auto defrost cycle has gone bad. Remove the rear inside freezer panel and check continuity on the defrost heater and bi-metal switch. The bi-metal has to be cold when testing it. If both parts show continuity, you will need to change the defrost timer.

how long did you leave it unplugged? it's possible all the frost didn't defrost .you need to leave it unplugged and the doors open for at least 12 hrs.

You may need a new defrost module. The coils ice up when it is not working. This makes the fridge and freezer only a little cold. About 150 to 250 bucks to fix if you call a service person. Under a hundred for the part.

I faced the same problem for Kenmore elite Trio Model # 795.77543600 bottom freezer refrigerator. The issue as pointed out by Medeer on fixya.com, turned out to be the part called component assembly, part number 6615JB2005H. I got this replaced yesterday but for 4 hours I did not notice any cooling... so I thought it did not work.... but then in the morning I notice that the issue has been resolved, the refrigerator is cold and there is no eR dH error message. You have a failed component or components in your automatic defrost system. This is why you have excessive frost inside the freezer along the back wall. The timer could be stuck in run mode. The defrost thermostat (bi-metal) could be defective or the defrost heater could be open or shorted.
