Question about Refrigerators

2 Answers

My larder fridge (only 2 years old) suddenly started freezing up. The door seal never fitted very well so having made all recommended checks I talked to an engineer who advised I replaced the door (a complete unit). i've done that and there is no longer ice on the inside of the fridge but although the door closes properly (I've checked the light goes off) the fridge won't get cold at all.

How can i stop my larder fridge from producing lots of ice?

If your fridge is built into the furniture, pull it out by releasing all the retaining screw, clean the condenser and the areas behind your fridge. Dust and fluffs reduce the efficiency of the fridge. Also turn the dial to three, if it is higher, older fridge do not need to be cranked to higher numbers. If no joy call an engineer, the level of refrigerant in your system may need topping up. Will cost you anything from sixty pounds for a qualified engineer to do this.

My Baumatic larder fridge won't go cold the fan and the compressor is working but the temp won't go below 16 degrees

Check to see if there is ice built up around the door preventing it from closing and sealing properly. This can happen if the door isn't closed all the way at times.

New door fitted on Larder integrated fridge but door alarm sounds inspire of door being closed.Digital display indicates door open.

The old door had a hidden trigger that signaled when the door was closed.
You need to retrieve the trigger from the old door and fit to the new door.

high chris
check to see if you have a drain at back/near bottom of the fridge,if so, clean out with neat clorine bleach.if you have a fridge thermometer adjust fridge to run at +5c(optimum temp) and cover all food with cling film to cut down on condensation.
