A label can have a maximum of seven characters.
To administer Labels for Extensions from the System Programming console:
Note: When programming on the system programming console, use the buttons next to the display to specify the letters A through I and punctuation. Use the line/feature buttons to specify additional alphanumeric characters for labels. Use the template provided with the System Programming console to see which line buttons correspond to which alphanumeric characters,

Name changes are done from the System Administrators phone. In the TA-series, it's system program 604. In a TAW it's 004. I can give you complete instructions, but you have to get to that screen first.
If you get there and want to play, the SP Phone FWD CONF MUTE and keypad press up to 7 times enter the Alphabet names (space is under 1). Nothing writes until you press STORE.

press the left intercom
Enter the name.
When finished, press feature 00 to exit programming.

System Admin access is available from any 7310 or higher model phone. You need a password and overlay..or a picture of what the buttons do in programming.

I just worked it out.
Press Program
Then **
followed by your passcode (usually 1234)
Then 004
Then press next till you find Mark
Press Shift then the button under Clr
Then enter the name so for Claire start with 2 and swing the jog button round till you get a C, then press 5 and swing the jog button round till you get an l etc..
If you make a mistake press Transfer
Then when you've got your name correct press Auto Dial.

Why don't u just "replace"or save as a new name for the caller's number. Please refer to the manual page 5-6 for how to storing the caller's information.
