Question about Black & Decker 19" Electric Lawnhog Mulching Mower with Rear Bag
Can i bypass the switch on the mower to check to see if the switch is bad. If so how can i do this?
You can, but I would not recommend it. Putting a jumper can be a problem because if the wire is too thin it can burn up the wire and the casing. The switch is designed to contain the arc/spark at the timeof engagement.
If you choose to ignore common sense, make sure that you unplug the mower from the extension cord, secure a 12ga wire to both black wires inside the case, close the case, and plug in the extension cord. Be prepared to immediately disconnect the mower once it turns on, and also you should expect an arc/spark when you connect and disconnect the extension cord. This is the spark the switch is designed to contain within its case.
