Sometimes, when you get a Blue screen of death, eventually, you don't get enough time to write the problem down. But now here's the chance.
Right-click on the Computer icon and choose Properties. Windows Vista users will be taken to the system properties screen, so click on Advanced system settings.
The Advanced tab should already be selected, so you'll want to click the Settings button under "Startup and Recovery".
Here we go… just uncheck the option for Automatically restart under the System failure section.
Next time you get a BSOD you'll be able to see it and able to write down the error message. You'll have to manually reboot the computer if this happens, of course (by holding the power button for 5 seconds.)
This tip made me start thinking… are there any horror movies based on the blue screen of death or kids who see this goes freakin out?
This tip applies to all computers, excluding apple computers!
when yit says the "we apologize screen" try doin the "controle-alt-deleat" command. if that doesnt work, try pressing the escape key. if that Still doesnt work, try pressing the end key. my guess is that you were either looking at something you souldnt have been, or you clicked on an ad. Eitherway, it sounds like you got a nasty virus. if nothing else works........ reformat.

First of all do a reset by holding down the Select and Menu buttons.
When it's restarted it if it hasn't solved it press and hold the Select and Menu buttons but as soon as the screen goes dark press and hold the Select and rewind buttons. This puts the iPod into diagnostics mode.
From there go to 'IO' on the list using the wheel and Select then to Display and keep clicking select as it goes through the different colours and graduations. Hopefully you see them all
when it comes to the end it will ask yo to press Menu, so do that.
Click Menu again and again until you see reset at the bottom of a list. Go to this and select it.
It will now reset and all will be good in the world.
If that hasn't fixed it then it's likely the ribbon for the LCD has become dislodged or damaged. If it has, let me know.
