on the 512 there is label with the following.

You may have the wrong type of RAM or your system has a maximum of 1GB.

If you would like to post your computer make and model or what make and model motherboard you have I would be glad to look into it further.

Thanks for using Fixya.

    OK,

It is not the motherboard. It holds a max of 4GB...each slot can hold 1GB.

    Try this:

Put the 2 1GB modules in the blue slots and the 2 512MB modules in the black slots and see how much is being registered.

    Comment back.

    Thanks again.

Sorry this is taking so long. Looks like this may just be a compatibility issue.

Next, note the frequency of the 2 that are being detected. (133, 166, or 400)

Then reverse the DIMMS. Your old ones in the blue and the new ones in the black.

See what the BIOS detects. Also note the freq.

Can you also note the part numbers on the DIMMS? Old and new.

Well, I see you have a total of 2GB now. I guess that is a good thing. I have seen these strange things happen before. Just not positive what the cause is. May be the density. High density modules, which are usually cheaper, don't work in all situations. As I said in the last comment, if you want to take the time to post the numbers from the modules...and what brand they are I can try to find more info.

I would definitely go ahead and try it. Your computer seems to recognize the speed, just not the entire amount of RAM. I think you will be OK. If you notice any instability with your system you may want to go with the old ones if they worked for you before.

Those labels really don't give much info. No part numbers. Celenade, eh? Are you in the UK?

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

And you changed and saved new boot order in BIOS?

You may have a bad DIMM. Test one card, one slot at a time till you identify the bad one.

Acer desktp internal ram installation needed

I'm a bit confused....did you have all four of these in the ACER and are trying to put the 2x1GB into the Emachine? And that the 2x1 GB wouldn't work in the Emachine but they did in the ACER and that the 2x512 Acer cards worked in the emachine?

If that is what happened here is my best guess. The ACER MOBO will support 533/667/800 MHZ DDR2 RAM. The Emachine will only support 533 RAM. Iys possible the 2x1GB are either 667 or 800 MHZ and are not compatible with the Emachine but will work in the ACER.

I put a dvd in my macbook what was burned on a german system and now I can't take it out and the dvd player show me no disk when I try to open the dvd player.

Three possible solutions

Restart the Mac during the bootup, hold down the mouse key, that may work

use disk utility in applications folder and the utility folder and see if the disk shows up under your DVD drive and from there you can then press the eject button

Don't know if your macbook is an intel but if it isn't try restarting the computer and holding down: Cmd+Option+O+F and the type in the terminal box: eject CD and then press return

Camera on Macbook shows black all the time

Ok. Shut your system down completely, then remove the battery. Hold the power down for 8 seconds and let go. Then insert your battery and start up your system normally.

This should remove the anomaly. It almost like a power surge is seizing your camera.

Here are a few things that might help you
Try to start your computerfrom the system CD, if this fails, you may try to start it from theDisk Warrior CD, if this won't work also, I would check the PRAM.
