You most likely have a bad defrost timer, which would account for the ice, and lack of cooling. Hope this helps

Usually replacing the defrost timer takes a little bit of time, but is not generally difficult to do. Just remember to do all connections one wire at a time to avoid having to trace the wires back later.

Water dispenser not working on kenmore trio refrigerator

The tubing inside the door is most likely frozen. Mine did that a year ago. I had to remove gasket and loosen screws around edge and allow to defrost inside door. There was a lot of ice around dispenser and tubing.

Kenmore refrigerator,bottom stoped cooling.freezer works just a little bit.8 years old.bought new.

More than likely your freezer has a ice block in it it will have a lot of frost on the inside of the freezer. This ice block is usually caused by a bad timer or a bad heating element in the freezer. The timer kicks in a timed cycle to turn on the heating element and a hi heat limit keeps it from getting to hot just hot enough to melt any frost and ice. (thats how we have frost free fridges now)

Cannot adjust refrigerator temp (warm) and freezer will not produce ice

There is an ice dam in the freezer port which is preventing cold air from passing into the refrigerator. Remove the bottom panel and melt the ice. Make sure the passageway in the very back of the freezer is completely clear of ice.

I have a Kenmore refrigerator with a bottom freezer. The unit has worked well about 6 years. Now, The freezer is working well and the refrigerator is not working at all. Any suggestions where to start?...

Sounds like a freezer fan problem . Not a thermostat problem . Could also be a defrost problem , if so , then look for frost on the rear wall of the freezer inside to determine .

Freezer is too cold, ice crystals. Refriderator

I'm not sure which one you have, but try this: Look for the area where the air passes from the freezer to the refrigerator side, in the wall somewhere between them. Make sure that there isn't something blocking the passage. This is a good place to start.

Water leaking out freezer door--unit is still making ice

There is a shroud at the back of the freeezer. (Mine was a GE) but under the shroud is the evaporator coils and also a heating element to defrost the coils during the defrost cycles. Mine had the gutter underneath misaligned and the water went into the freezer and froze instead of going down the drain. I thought it was a ice maker leak until we found that. The weird thing is we had the refrigerator for about 6 years before it started leaking like that.

It has worked fine for about a year since that "fix"
