The make of radio will have to be identified in order to see whether a code can be calculated.

(Not all codes can be calculated from the Serial Number)

The car VIN number is not required (except if you have to ask your Main BMW Dealer for the code where they will have access to the original BMW factory database.)

The radio will have to be removed from the car dashboard .Then please quote the MAKE + MODEL of your radio plus ALL the LETTERS and NUMBERS on any LABELS , BARCODES or STAMPED IN THE METAL CASING.

There should be a 14 character Serial Number......usually stamped in the metal casing

Usually the VIN number will get you the code from the dealer.

I have the radio serial # (on back of radio) & car VIN. How do I get the radio code? Thanks

All you have to do is call the dealer with the serial # and Vin and they should be able to give you the code. Then write it down somewhere in you owners manual. You can also check in the back of your owners manual, some dealers put a sticker in there with the code on it when they sold the car. Good luck.

I need the radio code for 92 bmw 325i

Hello,

Here is a site that will provide the radio code for $28.99.

http://www.radio-code.com/

You will need the serial number of the radio. There are 2 ways to retrieve the serial number. The first way does not require removal of the radio: 1) With the key in the off position - HOLD DOWN THE "M" RADIO BUTTON 2)WHILE HOLDING DOWN THE "M" BUTTON, TURN ON THE KEY AND THE RADIO 3) SERIAL NUMBER WILL BE DISPLAYED 4) WRITE DOWN THE RADIO SERIAL NUMBER. The second method requires removal of the radio. The site above does not support that method of retrieval. In that case, you should probably check with your local BMW dealership.

Hope this helps!

I need to enter a code to reset the radio

Hi!
You don't need to take the vehicle to the dealership, just the vin number registration document/title proof of ownership and identification. They should be only too glad to give you the code for a small fee I guess.
Hope this sorts it? Please press the Blue Button for My FREE! advice. Thank You!

The only way to obtain a code is to call BMW with the serial number which is located on a stick at the back of the radio

1997 bmw 328i radio code

It will be with your owners documentation packet that includes the operating manual on a card in the radio guide booklet ( I just leave one in the glove compartment. The bimmer comes with two plastic cards displaying the radio unlock code for your radio. If you don't have or can't find the code in the radio booklet/packet, then you can get the code with your VIN (vehicle identification number) through a BMW dealership or a BMW Technician with access to the list. There are even Members of BMW forums that will provide your code via the VIN, but either way this will only work for the original radio (hopefully yours hasn't been replaced).
I bought a replacement radio for my 750 and I wrote the code down in several locations and I suggest you do the same when you get yours, as it's no fun guessing at it as you get three tries and have to leave the radio sit without power for over an hour before it will let you enter another code again and there are 1.000 possible codes.
Good luck.
