The freezer temp is fine but the fridg temp is 50 degrees. It will not get colder than that. I have left it off for 24 hours to defrost and turned it back on and this did not solve the problem.

- I have turned off the fridg for 24 hours on 2 different occasions. I have had 5 service calls so far and it is still too warm in the fridg. I have had the fan and motor replaced, seals, condensor checked, defrost timer replaced, thermostat and drain heater installed. Adjusting the temp in the fridg makes no difference it is running at 50 degrees. The freezer is working fine. Any other ideas other than junk it? It is 10 years old.

- After changing the damper that fixed the temp issue. It runs fine now a little on the cold side but within normal limits. Thanks!
The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper)
between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through
it.(make sure this fan is running. Hold the door switch in in order to check it while looking in the freezer.)There is a flap you adjust with the
fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the
fridge temp. The problem could be the electronic control if
you have one or the mechanical linkages.
try moving the temp around, then if you tryed that already then defrost your frige turn off completly for one day if that dont fix it check if switch is working, last thing is the change the compressor

I have a built-in monogram series side-by-side refrigerator 36x42x48 bought in 2002. About every half hour or so it makes a noise that sounds like a machine gun about 10 rapid tat-tat-tat sounds to the left side in the freezer area. I have removed the ice maker aparatus turned the ice maker off and pulled the plug apart inside the ice maker area and it still makes the sound. A GE repairman has come out but doesn't know what is wrong. Any ideas? Jim McNelis

The dispenser on my GE Monogram side by side will only dispense water. Neither the crushed nor cube works. This just after repairs to replace the heater pad on the evaporater. Switch, solenoid, wire?
