the solution you sent was for a 2  bbl. carb. I need one for a 4bbl carburator and I did not see a diagram?

Hello are you out there, haven't had a reply for some time,  since I rejected your answer

  • mo_jo169 Sep 10, 2009

What I read was a "tune - up chart as well and that is not what I'm looking for.

  • mo_jo169 Sep 10, 2009

I do own the "service and "shop" manuals.  They are general operating manuals for the day and do have pictures of the hide away headlight system, carb etc.,  thet are for Lemans, Firebird, Tempest in general,  they do not show the specific vacuum distributor valve as it was only put in Firebird & GTO, 68 & 69.
I wonder if you have read this book that you are suggesting I buy?

I really can not find the photos you want...but they are available here if you buy the service manual for your car. I think it's the fix for your situation. This is a older model and information is not readily available. The service manual is the way to go!

The Chiltons manual for the your GTO is more than simple manual for operating and servicing. It has all the detailed specs for the car and a schematic diagram of the vacuum system. Can you read a schematic?

So sorry to have not been able to find the photo you needed. It's just not out there. I think the Chiltons manual for that car is the best I can recommend for you. Hope that helps...

How do I access a wiring diagram for handle switch assembly on an Oreck XL upright vacuum?

Go to www.hescoinc.com. Click on schematics under information on the left side of the page, then click on Oreck and find your model. Hopefully that has enough detail for you. You can order parts from them too at prices lower than most other distributors.

How do I cycle the valves on the bottom with the eraser end of a pencil on my hoover dual vac shampooer

The center part of the valve (stem) pushes up (spring loaded) to release liquid. If it leaks it can (and should) be replaced. Also, check the black valve seal (conical shaped ring around the outside) for cracks or splits as this can contribute to leaks. The entire valve assembly (similar to photo) should be replaced to solve both issues.

Hoover max extract leaks from end of upholstery hose

Hello! The nozzle/valve assembly, the white piece at the end of the hose that releases the solution may be clogged with build-up residue. Try soaking the trigger end in warm water for a few hours. If this does not help, the nozzle/valve assembly may need to be replaced. Order the nozzle/valve assembly by following this link. Search Results or order the complete hose assembly by following this link. Search Results

Hope this helps!

Hi my hoover f7425-900 is not releasing water from the clean water tank but the detergent is being released can you help me? thanks

The most common reason for this problem is that the solenoid operated valve on the rinse cycle has failed, and is not opening. The solenoid assembly will probably require replacement.

I can't get the hose portion apart to see why it is clogged?

There is a plastic retaining ring securing the hose to the rear of the machine. By removing the ring the hose can be removed and checked for blockage. If it is clear, you may have to remove the rear duct assembly and check inside. The large "J" shaped duct is held in place by eight # 20 torx screws. If this is clear, the valve assembly inside the rug nozzle may be broken and require professional repair.

My steam cleaner is leaking as soon as i put the clean water tank on machine

The most common reason for leakage is that the reservoir assembly has gone bad. If you look in the area behind the tank, you will see a rod that pushes down on a small round rubber seal when you squeeze the trigger. The assembly being pushed on is the reservoir, and the internal valve may be bad. This would require replacement of the assembly. ( Part # 43526016, msrp $6.49 ). Another possibility is that the seal that the tank sits on is worn or missing. There is a round black rubber seal that the tank sits on. There is a plastic pin in the middle which opens the tank outlet valve. I sometimes see this seal missing - usually because a child has pulled it off. If it is missing it must be replaced. ( Part # 38784060, msrp $1.29)

Bag was changed, but vaccum cleaner will not reset itself

You could have a clogged hose, afterfilter, or worn/broken control valve assembly.
1. To check the filter, press the tab located at the bottom of the tool holder/air diffuser. See photo below. Lift air diffuser. There may or not be a filter here. If there is, remove it, then check machine operation.

2. Disconnect hose form canister. Turn on machine. Place hand over intake. If the machine turns off during this process, the control valve assembly is broken or worn out. Replacement needs to be done at an authorized Aerus franchise service center.

3. To check the hose, disconnect both ends. Drop a marble or similar size item in one end and allow to roll out the other. If it doesn't, the hose is clogged. This will cause the machine to shut off as well.

The brushes are turning but there is not suction

how old is the unit? Check the filters for clogs. if you dont find a clog in the hose, cyclone, or filters then its most likely the valve in the neck of the vacuum. There is a small clip that switches this valve from attachments to nozzle when the handle release is pressed. the clip always breaks off leaving the valve stuck in one position. unfortunately dyson requires you to replace the whole cradle assembly
