Question about Dell 3100cn Laser Printer

Hi, I have a Dell 3100cn, which was doing just fine until I turned it on this morning. I get an error messsage "Close front Door". I got online with Dell chat, and he ran me thru a few things to make sure nothing was broken or stuck. The door closes perfectly. He then said that it was more likely a worn out sensor or something to the board?? But since my printer is out of warranty, my only option with them was to pay some crazy $150 per hour to have it looked at. I really gave it to them. My front door has maybe been opened a total of 4 times in 3 years and a "door sensor" goes bad. Anyway, anyone have any suggestions for me at all before I through away this piece of **** and never buy dell again? Please, some suggesstions.

I found this solution online for you:

Shut off the printer.

  • 2 Hold down the "Continue" button while opening the front door. Then turn on the printer.
  • 3 Keep the Continue button held down until only the "Error LED" is on then release the button. Close the door.
  • 4 The Continue button, Ready/Data, Toner Low, and Load Paper LEDs should all be lit up.
  • 5 Press "Cancel" a few times to cycle through the LEDs until just the "Toner Low LED" is lit.
  • 6 Press and hold the "Continue" button until the LEDs cycle through and release only when the LED stops at Toner Low.
  • 7 Turn the printer off and back on.

    We are getting error code 004-332 Restart Printer on our Dell 3100cn printer. We have tried unplugging and restarting print spooler but it still come up witht message when we try to print


    This error code on Dell 3100CN occurs when toner cartridges are not seated properly and/or are not properly locked in. Turn off the printer and unplug it. Now, you need to open the front door and pull out the drum. Try moving the carousel and check if it moves freely. While moving the carousel back and forth try adjusting the cartridges. try to unlock the cartridges and lock them again.

    Now turn off the printer and turn it on after 1-2 min.s.

    the BTR cover is also called " Bias Transfer Roller " cover it should be that roller that seen when open the front cover most likely the Bias transfer roller door sensor in NOT detecting the dorr closed. make sure the tab isn't broken this will produce this error if it is.

    How to close the large back panel door? The door will not close and latch into place.

    Disconnect the power and ethernet cable, open the lower paper tray slightly, turn your printer around where you have easy access to the back of the printer. Close the main door until it has full resistance. ( The lower right hand corner of the door will be bowed out. ) With the heel the the palm of your hand, "pop" the lower right hand corner of the door, swiftly. Turn printer around, push tray in, reconnect cables, and turn on printer with power switch.

    How do I remove all the Dell 3100cn toner cartridges

    First open the top door, pulling out the drum. Leave the door open.Then open the front door.
    Then close it slowly. While doing this, move the carousel. The carrousel is free while the
    door closed and locked while it open.

    Paper Jam Error on Dell 3100cn Laser Printer

    Push the side button and open the front cover

    Pull out the jammed paper from the duplexer. If jammed paper cannot be found, go to the next step.

    Pull up on the belt release levers and rotate the belt unit up

    Remove the jammed paper and close the belt unit

    Close the front cover

    After researching the error online, I solved my problem by simply pushing the back cover of the unit closed; I didn't even know it had come open after I removed my jam.
