Most likely software setting:

1. Open you document, or whatever program/file you are printing from.
2. Click on [File], [Print] (don't click on the "print" icon).
3. In the widow that opens up, note that "Number of copies" is not set to "1".
4. Set that number to 1
5. Click "Print" in order to "save" the setting.

Reset canon printer MP500


The reset method for Canon Pixma MP500 All-In-One Photo Printer
1. Entering into Service Mode
  1. Start with printer connected to power cord (electric source)
  2. Press and hold STOP/RESET button.
  3. Press and hold POWER button.
  4. Release STOP/RESET button without releasing power button.
  5. Click STOP/RESET two times and then release power button.
2. Reset the Canon Pixma MP500 All-In-One Photo Printer
  • After the printer entering into service mode, prepare paper on the printer paper tray
  • Press Stop/reset button for 1 times and then press power button, await till printer finished print.
  • Press Stop/reset button for 2 times and then press power button, The printer will print again. Await till printer finished print again.
  • Press Stop/reset button for 3 times then press power button to reset EEPROM.
  • Press Stop/reset button for 4 times then press power button to reset Waste Ink Counter.
  • Switch off the printer. if printer doesn't turn off, press button power until printer off

Printer shows alarm with p and 8 flashing


Follow this instruction step by step.

1. Turn Off printer, cable power still plug in.

2. Press Stop/Reset button, don't release the button.

3. Press Power button by holding without release and than release Stop/Reset Button.

4. Press Stop/Reset button two times (2x) now release the Power Button.

5. Wait until service mode to zero (0).

6. Turn off the Printer, cable power still plug in.

7. Press Stop/Reset button, don't release it.

8. Press Power button don't release & than release Stop/Release button.

9. Press Stop/Reset button four times (4x), wait until service mode to "1"

10. Turn off printer, and loose cable power, wait for one (1) minute.

11. Connect cable power, turn on printer again, now this printer ready to use.

My mp250 printer shows error p08, I can't use it in any way. I replaced the black ink tank with a new one and tried resetting the printer and it doesn't solve the problem.


Follow the instructions step by step

You have a Fusing temperature problem.
Problably because the hot roller are crusted whith tonner and the thermistors cant read the temperature.
If you whant you can reset that error code. However, if the error appears again, i advise you to call tecnical assistence.
Try this to reset the code:
1-Press yellow key
2-On the key pad press 107
3-Old down the red key at least 3 sec.
4-Press 1copy SP
Exit all the way out to the copy window.
Turn the main swith off and on.

    * Connected Printer to a Power source, Turn off the printer if printer on
    * With the Printer power off, press the Power button while press and hold Stop/Reset button.
    * When the Power led is light, press Stop/Reset button two times while pressing and holding the Power button.
    * When releasing the Power button and the Stop/Reset button (regardless of order), the printer will move into a service mode. (Waiting for menu selection)
    * When the on/off lights in green, press the Stop/Reset button 4 times to reset the printer. (Each time the Stop/Reset button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in orange and green, starting with orange).
    * press on button to comform reset....
    .* off the printer and turn on again...the printer will back to normal....

    Hi, you will have to stop sharing your printer, if you have the administrator rights to do this you will have to go to the printer properties click on sharing and click do not share and save.

    that should stop them from using your printer

    Sounds like a loose connector. "H" code on Sharps indicate a heater fault, if I remember correctly "2" indicates it's a thermistor.
    So, if it was working before you took it apart, I'd be looking at the connectors, good luck & happy hunting....
