Hi. I had a similar problem with an european printer, which I tried to use in Latin America. The princer can be regionalized, but I think you have to call or e-mail Hewlett Packard service, which will give you instructions. You need to install 2 ink cartridges from the same region before regionalization.
Greetings.
K. Adam.

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

You need to contact HP to change your printer to accept the cartridges. The cartridges have their own warranty and HP should help you get them to work even if your printer is out of warranty. This page explains a little more.

Tip

Remove Regionalisation

Hi All

After having my HT-Q100 repaired by an official Samsung repair centre, I was unable to play any DVD's - even UK ones!

So I phoned Samsung, they said I should return it to the repair centre for it to be fixed.

I couldn't be bothered to waste time on this yet again, so I logged onto Moneysavingexpert.com and found that you can remove regionalisation on DVD players and it's totally legal!

Therefore the following instructions are for removing the regionalisation on the Samsung HT-Q100 so you can play any DVD's! I've just carried this out and it's fixed the DVD problem and can once again play DVD's!

1. Remove disc from tray.
2. Switch off player and unplug from mains.
3. Wait 30 seconds, then reconnect mains.
4. Turn on player with remote. Wait for player to finish loading and display 'no disc'.
5. Press enter on remote. (There will be no on-screen response.)
6. Press 8, 4, 2, 6, 9 on the remote. (There will be no on-screen response.)
7. Press enter on the remote. Player will automatically shut off.
8. Turn player on.
9. turn off.
10. Turn player off then on again.
11. Player is now region-free.

Need to reh=gionalise my hp deskjet 2050 3in1 for india bought from dubai

You Will have to call the HP Tech Support for India, and ask them to speak to the Supervisor because they are the only one who have the code.
They Might require this information.
  • 14 digit printer S/N
  • 20-digit colour pen S/N
  • 20-digit black pen S/N
These, with the desired printer region, are input to a regionalisation tool (some for of key generator) which outputs a 25-digit key. This has to be input via the HP printer utility software on the Win/Mac machine. Then the printer is properly regionalised following off/on reset.

I have moved to Australia with a HP C4180 Inkjet printer but the correct cartridge in Australia produces an error message. How do I regionalise my printer so it will accept Australian HP cartridges?

Call HP for Ink Regionalization. 1-800-4746836

You dont have to try it by yourself because in HP Techsupport its one of the very tough issue we handle. There are only 50 failed attempts limited to regionalize it. 3 Regionalization limited for every printer is allowed. So be careful not to risk trying.

And aside from that the process in doing that is very technical.By calling HP they can provide you options specially if your migration to Australia is not permanent.

Hope I help you a bit.

HP deskjet D1660 - how to regionalise the cartridges

Hello there,

For regionalized ink, you need to call their customer care number located on the sticker of the unit.

They will help you regionalise your cartridges. It happened to me already and they just need to set something on your printer.

Please feel free to leave a testimonial if this works and please do not forget to click 4 thumbs.

Cheers!

How do I reset the regionalisation? I have UK 7210 with US cartridegs whch it won't recognise.Someone, somewhere must have noted the HP tech instructions for this process? Can't be rocket science; can it?

hi to reconfigure the regional setting we need to do a reset on the printer which will reset the printer to its factory settings to start the reset ensure that the printer is powered on and disconnected from the computer now press the # and the no 6 button on the printer together and then remove the power cord from the back of printer while pressing the # and 6 after 10 sec reinsert the power cord and relese the buttons it will start a semiful nvm reset after 2 min it will ask you the language and then region select the region and your printer will be reconfigured all the best

I need to reset UK printer to accept US inks

I have the same issue. Called HP support and they were not able to change the region code.

I am complaint to HP trhough all possible ways, would suggest you to do the same. If we are loud enough, maybe they will rememebr what customers menas...

if I do not have a solution I am plannign on buy whatever other printers exist, with good quality that do not use this stupi solution.

One way to solve your problem is to use refill kits, as then you use the old cartridges with the righ region codes - so much for HP supporting us to buy original supplies...

Change region code for ink cartridges

I've recently moved from the UK to the US and have successfully changed the region on my Deskjet 6840. Your biggest challenge is going to be navigating through HP's awful customer service (as this is the only way to get it done - don't waste time googling for ways to do it yourself).

After frustrating hours with their on-line tech support, and a useless guy telling me that what I was asking couldn't be done (I should just buy a new printer, apparently!), I turned to phone support.

A very helpful guy on their phone support described to me exactly what was needed. However, he said that it was hardly ever done, many of the tech support people had no experience of it, and that he wasn't allowed to do it himself - I would have to be transferred to "Level 2" tech support. As my printer was out of warranty, this was going to cost me around 40 bucks (I forget the exact amount). Or he said, I could try the online support which, he admitted, was a bit of a lottery.

Given I now understood the "HP terminology" to use, I decided to try online support once more. Probably partly due to the clearer technical description I was able to give, and partly because the person I was connected to wasn't a clueless idiot this time, it was finally resolved pretty smoothly.

Total time taken: 4-5 hours - get comfy, try to not get too frustrated, and don't give up!
