Question about Sony Grand WEGA KDF-42WE655 42" Rear Projection HDTV
According to numerouse websites, Sony was aware of this problem and continued to manufacture the TV.
The problem is the Optical Block, and very costly to repair ($1000-1500). Some websites offer remanufactured optical blocks, but even with that, the cost is still around $650.
Some sites also indicate a class-action lawsuit against Sony may be in the works.
Best place i have found price-wise was UNION ELECTRONICS google them then give them a call.
