You need to speak with a service rep at Verizon. I dont know why they wold not allow you to use your network.

I had the same problem with my VPN dropping the connection after a few minutes. I tried a lot of things. What worked for me was realizing that OpenVPN is a part of most VPN software.

OpenVPN requires that the VPN user to have administrative privileges https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Window...

Windows 10 does not run in administrative mode automatically without specifically telling it "run as administrator". Not all programs used in Windows 10 need administrative rights to run properly. However, OpenVPN in Windows 10 does need administrative privileges to run properly.

To assign your VPN program administrative privileges in Windows 10, "right-click" on the VPN icon on your icon page. Then click on "properties". Then click on the "advanced" tab. Afterward, check the box that says "run as administrator". Next click "apply". Last, click "ok". That should do it.

You may have to assign yourself administrative privileges before doing the above (click "windows" key and "x" key at the same time, then click "run as administrator"), if the "run as administrator" box does not appear in the "properties"-"advanced" tab.

If you want to run your VPN as a non-administrator, you can http://www.hacker10.com/computer-securit...

Apparently, OpenVPN routes traffic while you are using your VPN. If OpenVPN cannot route the traffic, it is an error. If an error occurs, the VPN connection can drop out.

Again, OpenVPN is a part of most VPN software so run your VPN with administrative privileges or non-administrative privileges and be "happy" again!

This is a common problem with VPN and by no means confined to Verizon. You will need to check with whoever you are VPN connecting to as it is most likely they that are experiencing a problem and dropping your connection. Contact the host Network Admin or Support team to assist you. I have had this happen many times, especially when travelling and it has never been an issue with my laptop and has always been the host.

Did you already forward port 1723? I guess you have done that. To isolate it, try to bypass the router and setup or establish the VPN session there. If it doesn't work, maybe your ISP doesn't allow port 1723 or it's just the modem.

- Check the Internet if working properly?
- Access the configuration page of your router and open the firewall settings, uncheck the list below:

Enable PPTP Passthough
Enable L2TP Passthough
Enable IPSec Passthough

- Try to gather some VPN ports to open using the router.

Note: You should have your permission from the connection of VPN to use it.

Cisco vpn will not work with verizon service now after we got a new modem through verizon

Verizon Home DSL service uses a special filter that prevents ALL incomming connection including web, email and VPN hosting from a home connection. Business internet does not limit this, and I don't believe FIOS blocks it. If you have verizon home, there's nothing you can do. If you're just trying to connect to a home machine, you can try something like gotomypc, or a free alternative like teamviewer.com or logmein.com.

If you don't have verizon home dsl, comment back with what service you do have, and we can try some other things.

Westel 327W no longer accessing VPN

It sounds like your company has changed some settings for access into thier local intranet. Your IT guy will have to figure out what's wrong, becuase he would be the one with the knowledge of your companies settings. Perhaps they changed the shared-key, or something in the security settings.

Another note: If you have recently changed/upgraded any installations of firewalls or internet security software, check to make sure it's not blocking any of the IP address or ports you need open to access your company network.
