Connecting Powerbook G4 to Sharp Aquos LC-20D10-W

Hello,
I recently purchased a Sharp Aquos LC-20D10-W in Japan and I having problems connection both my older Powerbook G4 (15 inch titanium) and my new Macbook (13 inch white).
I can connect my powerbook via s video without issues. When Itried to connect via the DVI - to the PC port in the back of the TV using an adapetr, my computer recognizes the tv, but I don't get a picture. I then tried with an HDMI adapter and got the same result. I tried switching resolution settings and that also did not work.
I Also tried connecting my macook using the mini dvi port with an adapter with the same result.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

A few tries, go to the apple in the top left and choose SYSTEM PREFERENCES....it should bring you to:

In the HARDWARE row you should see DISConnecting Powerbook G4 to Sharp Aquos LC-20D10-W - 0ceaf58.pngct that and you will be at:

You have the DETECT DISPLAYS button, and also CLICK the "Show displays in menu bar" box, so you dont have to keep going through menus to configure.

If you look at the F7 key, to the right of the NUM LOCK key (F6), that key allows you to switch from expanded to mirroring or vice versa.

You can also check Apple's Knowledge base....

Sharp LC-32D40U purchased 8/2006 has sound but no picture most of the time. Cable people certified the cable service as satisfactory. Can it be repaired?

Hello,
Problem is in either power supply or the Y-Sustain board.
The Y-Sustain is a relatively large board out of which go connections to the side of the display; it's therefore closer to either the left or the right side of the display, has at least one rather large heat sink on it and fat power cables connecting it to the main power supply.
Often there are fuses on that board - one or more. Check those.
if they are blown you can try to replace them, but expect them to blow again - usually the whole board needs to be replaced. Hoping that this will help to solve the problem....

I suggest you check the cable input system. It is possible that the cable unit produces S Video or B-G and the TV is set up to receive standard quality RGB.
Hope this helps

Problem connecting my PS3 to my Sharp Aquos LC-C3237U LCD TV

Your PS3 set itself above the max resolution your LC-C3237U. Most likely the PS3 is doing 1080P, but the highest the Sharp can do is 1080i. So do this:

1. Connect PS3 to TV (you can use the current cable or analog cable)
2. Turn on TV and set input to port PS3 is on.
3. Make sure PS3 is connected via correct cable.
4. Power on PS3 via power button and HOLD IT for 5 seconds (release after the second beep). It should automatically configure your PS3 to the TV's native resolution for all settings.

No Picture

I doubt that your component has burned out. You may be looking at a repair issue here even though your unit is only 3 years old IF: you have tried connecting using different inputs, OR if you cannot bring up your sharp menu, or you list of inputs. If you cannot do those following things, you have a SERVICE issue on your hands and unless you purchased and extended warranty with sharp, its useless calling them. They will just tell you tough luck, and refer you to one of their authorized service centers. good luck
