To access your drive belt, you need to take the front cover off. Unplug the dryer first.
There should be 2 screws on the front cover in the lower front area. Remove the screws and tip the bottom of the front panel forward until the top clips are frree of the top panel. Be careful there is a door safety switch wired. You can disconnect the wire and set the front panel aside.
Look under the drum in the dryer and you'll be able to tell if the belt is broken or loose.
IF you need to replace it, you'll need to take the 4 screws that hold the front drum support/duct assembly loose from the dryer case. Once these are removed you can pull out the whole gray assembly and slide the drum out.
The new belt can be purchased online at repairclinic.com if you want.
To put back in, you can put the belt around the drum and slide it back in. It should have a grooved side and a flat side on the belt. Put the flat side toward the drum. It routes around the motor pulley and a tensioner pulley. It may take a bit to figure out the routing, but the key is to put the belt into the indentation ring on the drum to allow you to get it around the pulley and tensioner... if you leave the drum sticking out of the machine about 8 inches, you can reach thru the drum and hook the belt in place, then slide the drum in and pull the belt out of the indentation and onto the larger circumference of the drum. You may have to twist the belt to get the flat side next to the drum.
You can then put it all back together...
Good luck... be patient and you can do it.

Trying to locate the belt on a Whirlpool washer

Hi:
Your washer does not have a belt. It has a transmission, and they seem not to fail very often. Usually, the problem lies with the timer or some other switch. What exactly happens when your spin cycle comes around? Normally, after the wash cycle, the machine stops, then the spin cycle starts in the opposite rotation. The first thing that happens is the water is pumped out, then as the speed increases, the spinning throws the rest of the water out of your clothes. If your machine does pump down the water, but doesn't spin fast, then you might have a transmission problem, but if it also fails to pump out the water, you could have a timer or switch problem, as some machines won't spin with the lid open, and if the switch is broken, the machine thinks the lid is open.

My van started off loosing acceleration the longer I drove it. I just got the rack and pinion fixed and now the heat doesnt work. I don't think the fan works. It blows a ton of steam out. The exhaust has...

Check the serpentine belt. The belt runs the alternator, water pump and power steering. Make sure the belt is on right and all the accessory like the water pump and alternator is spinning in the direction there supost to be. There should be a sticker under the hood or on the radiator shroud to how the belt is routed through the pulleys. Good luck and keep me posted.

Dryer runs but doesnt spin

I think you have this in the wrong category. There is a belt that spins the dryer 'drum,' it has probably failed (broke) and needs to be replaced. You need to go to a appliance part store (or check online) for the proper replacement belt. It isn't a real difficult job to do, make sure you unplug the machine before starting. You don't state the make of the dryer, but you can probably access the belt from the back, which will require removing the rear panel. There is a belt tensioner inside, and it could have failed, not the belt. Good luck

My wfooo hotpoint washing machine doesnt spin, the belt came off i put it back on but then it snapped when i put the washer on spin, will the washer being empty when i did this affect the belt?

Think your belt was allready on the way out and you will need a new one. Just a coincedence that it broke when it did. It came off because it was worn and stretched.

Tub doesnt spin after wash or rinse cycle

if it goes thru the wash cycle , is NOT a belt problem , what could be is a sensor switch located underneath where the door closes , its like a latch switch for security when it goes to spin, hope its helpful AJ
