Question about HP PSC 2175 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Open Question

Align ink cartridges error

It reads "Press enter to align ink cartridges" constantly. I'll press enter.  And sometimes it starts to align the ink cartridges but then says "align ink cartridges canceled" and ends it, other times it goes through the whole process. But either way, as soon as it is done, it immediately says "press enter to align ink cartridges" again.

SOURCE: stuck in a queue for align cartridges.

>Remove cartridges
>turn off machine
>uplug machine and disengage from pc
wait 20 minutes
>do everything in reverse order(put everything back
This is a simple reset. Is the machine now working?

If this is not working, look very carefully inside the printer sockets- are there any bent wires ? any broken? is there dried ink globs anywhere?

If everything looks okay, then we next need to check to see if your printer driver is up to date or has become corrupted in some way.

go to this site
http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html?pageDisplay=drivers

Enter you info and download the appropriate driver for your printer and your operating system.(Make sure you get the correct driver) Be sure to turn off all running programs when you do this including your firewall. Download it and save it to your desktop. It will be an exe. file on your desktop. Before you install it, turn the printer off. Click on the icon to install the new driver. Then turn the printer on and see if all is well. Good luck and if this does not work, let me know. I have had many HP printers.

Good Luck to you!

How to reset ink memory z2320

Here are my initial thoughts:

A. Press 'Order Ink' and continue according to manual without actually ordering ink. At the end of this process, you may have fooled your printer to think that you placed new cartridge. If this is not possible, then your ink station is not very good, they did not reset your cartridge even though it was necessary for your model.

B.
1. Turn the printer off;
2. Enter the Diagnostics Mode by holding down the GO and RETURN buttons while powering on the printer until the display reads PERFORMING SELF TEST. When ready, the display will read PRINT REGISTRATION;
3. Scroll to PRINTER SETUP and press the SELECT button;
4. Scroll to MAINTENANCE PAGE COUNT and press the SELECT button;
5. Scroll to RESET MAINTENANCE COUNT and press the SELECT button to reset the count to zero
6. Press the RETURN button to return to the Diagnostics Mode main menu, then exit Diagnostics Mode to return to normal mode.

C. Use The Printer Solution Center Option

  • Open the "Printer Solution Center" program on the computer associated with the Lexmark printer.
  • Select the "Maintenance" tab in the "Printer Solution Center."
  • Select the "Install a new printer cartridge" option.
  1. Click the "Next" buttons until the "Print the Alignment page" window appears onscreen.
  2. Select the "Print" button. If the Lexmark printer still doesn't read the refilled cartridges as having sufficient ink, repeat the process.

Resetting the Cartridge Option

  • Remove the black and color cartridges, refilled or new, from the printer.
  • Turn the printer off using the power button. Leave the printer off for about 20 seconds to allow it to power down completely.
  • Turn the printer on using the power button. The printer will go through the normal start-up process and will determine that no cartridges are installed.
  • Repeat Steps 3 and 4 five times. This process will allow the Lexmark printer to remove the usual five most recent ink cartridges from its memory and list of current ink cartridges and, as a result, accept the newly refilled ink cartridge.

This issue occurs if the alignment page is not perfectly or with good colors. Replace the low ink cartridge. If the ink levels are good do the following steps to clean cartridges :

1. Turn the unit on and open the lid or top cover.
2. Remove the cartridges.
3. Using a clean, dry lint-free cloth (a coffee filter works well),
wipe the cartridge contacts, from the top to the bottom. The contact
area of the cartridge should be rubbed briskly to remove the waxy
lubricant material from the gold contacts.
4. The contacts inside the printer may also require cleaning. Using a
clean, dry, lint-free cloth, 5. gently wipe the contacts, from the
top to the bottom.
5. Re-insert the cartridges and close the printer's top cover.

Steps to manually align cartridges
----------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Press Setup until Maintenance appears, and then press Enter.
2. Press until Align Cartridge appears, and then press Enter. Two pages are printed, one with instructions and one with patterns.
3. Follow the instructions on the instruction page, then place the page with patterns on the glass and press Enter. The cartridges are aligned correctly.

If the issue persists do the below to by pass alignment :
-----------------------------------------------------
Press Setup and Options (or Copy Options) simultaneously when align message is prompted on the All-in-One.

Thanks

Aligning printer after new ink cartridge inserted

SOLUTION: Start the cartridge alignment by performing a series of button presses from the front panel of the product.
  • HP PSC 1200 and 1300 series:
    1. Turn on the HP PSC 1200 or 1300 series product.
    2. Disconnect the USB cable from the all-in-one.
    3. Press the sequence of front panel buttons below to start the print cartridge alignment process. The button-press sequence must be completed within ten seconds. It might take several tries to complete the sequence within ten seconds.
      1. Press and hold Cancel .
      2. While holding Cancel , press On .
      3. When the Check Paper and Check Print Cartridge lights begin to blink simultaneously, release both buttons.
      4. Press Cancel again.
      5. Press Copies .
      6. Press Paper Type .
      7. Press Color Start Copy . The alignment page will begin printing. If the alignment page does not print, repeat the button-press sequence in this step.
    4. When the alignment page has printed, place the page face down on the scanner glass and press Scan . The alignment is complete when the On light stops blinking.
    5. Reconnect the USB cable.
CAUSE: This can occur if the cartridge alignment is canceled or times out without a valid print cartridge alignment stored in memory.

you can bypass when asked and use last good settings by..Press and hold the Enter button, and then press Menu

This problem is caused by incorrect alignment page print out caused by faulty cartridges, ideal fix is replacement of all ink carts

HP have a webpage dedicated to this...h10025.www1.hp.com

Also get on your gloves get out your vac and suck on the carts till a little ink comes out, make sure colour cart releases all 3 colours then reinstall, can get messy.
